(Motorcraft 2150)

My truck is running a really high idle, it is not reacting to the idle adjustment screw and when i start it in the morning the rpms are lower and then i drive for a while and when i put it in neutral or park it idle higher, now i read about the lever positioner for the airco and anti 'dieseling'. Does anyone here know how to check this?

And i also think my choke is acting wierd, does anyone have an idea?

Have you looked at the page at Documentation/Fuel & Air Systems/Carburetors, Chokes, & EFI/Motorcraft 2150?  There's a good explanation there on how they work.

But to address your questions, if the choke isn't coming off then the idle adjustment screw will have no effect.  The choke has to open fully to get the fast idle cam out of the picture.

If the choke isn't coming off then maybe it is adjusted on too much, or it isn't getting heated the way it should.  The choke is adjusted by loosening the three screws and turning the black plastic piece.  BUT, know where you start and only turn a couple of notches at a time.

clean with choke cleaner spray before making any adjustments. I had to do this just a couple hours ago on my 81.in my case i had cleaned it before and it still got slow to react again so i did remove the choke cap and gasket and cleaned it on the inside also. but this does require re setting it exactly where it was and being sure to get the coil inset into the lever notch properly. it now works the best it has in years.
