mat in tn Posted November 24 Posted November 24 the pictures are good, yet they do not show the area behind the fender at the furthest/lowest point which is where the biggest difference shows up. another point would be the battery tray. bullnose trays slip through slots in the fender liner and then mount to the fender. actually, under the liner and supporting it. the next gen was above it and there was no need for the slots or the formation for the tray. I would love to know of a new set available for bullnose as I've only found the next gen myself.

I search for new kit without success, but I was lucky to find one in good shape at my local salvage yard. Painted it, and found a new "battery attachment and bolt kit" at my local NAPA. Don't have good picture , but the following two show part of the result. The apron isn't already installed on the one without the battery, just below. 1
Rusty_S85 Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Wish someone would make some for our trucks. They claim these arent wear items but yet they do become brittle with age as I found out on my '82, I was planning on pulling them so I can clean my frame more as well as to apply a some eastwood plastic restorer on to reflow the plastic and get rid of the white haze, problem is my driver side one its thin around the back arch by the brake lines and its just breaking every time I touch it. I put as many of the big pieces back on via CA glue and I have been applying a new bead of CA glue after 24 hours to try and make sure its strong enough to safely remove without further breakage but I dont know. Much rather just spend the money on two new reproductions and call it a day.
Xr650jkallen Posted November 28 Posted November 28 My front ones are still in great shape, but the rears are long gone.
Edd575 Posted November 29 Posted November 29 did they come with rears? I just put a wrecking yard front on my EB Bronco along with the rt front fender, what a project getting them both in place and bolted in. I do not envy the body guys I'll stick with the mechanical and my fender was just badly wrinkled not crunched.
Rusty_S85 Posted December 3 Posted December 3 Yep there were rears, they were on the fleet side trucks, I seen some reproductions for them online when I was looking. Besides that, does anyone know what kind of plastic Ford used to make these fender aprons? I found that Eastwood sells a bunch of various plastic rods for repairs and thinking about getting that and using my soldering iron to fill in holes on mine as well as to add reenforcement where I put CA glue to hopefully prevent future breaks.
