Ouch, might have to hunt down NOS units like I did for my flareside.  Must have changed since around 2014/2015 when I built that '82 F150 with the 5.0 coyote at work, he bought LMC tail light assemblies and they fit just fine.

I've now heard from all the vendors but LMC and I think NPD may be the go-to place.  I got this response below from them today.  So if LMC doesn't come back with a an answer besides TYC I'd say NPD is the only place where I'm pretty sure you can get lights that fit.

Having said that, I will withhold judgement until we see a set of them.  So I'm going to work with Derek to order a set for Dad's truck.  Then we will know.

Good afternoon Gary,

We get our F-13405-8A left rear tail lamp assembly from United Pacific, not TYC, like your example. Both TYC and United Pacific are manufactured in Taiwan, but I do not know if they share the same tooling; it is not something they publish. History would say that the United Pacific has their own tooling, but we are not 100% certain.

I have attached multiple pictures of part numbers/markings on our F-13405-8A taillight. You should be able to compare them to the TYC and tell if they are the same/different.

I'm trying to find an 80-86 F100-F350 truck to test-fit them on; I will just need a little time. Our track history with this lamp has been excellent, going back to 2020. One customer stated, "The edges have a bit of mold flash that needs trimming." But that's the only negative throughout hundreds of sales.

Let me know what you think.

Best regards,

Derek De Beliso

That sounds good.  I quit using LMC myself and only use Dennis-Carpenter or NPD if I cant find a NOS offering.  I know I installed many of the United Pacific housings they also make retrofit LED housings as well, installed a set on a '77 C10 LS swap I did in 2023, they seem to be good quality how ever.

I disagree with Derek's reply as he obviously didn't read the reviews for both sides as multiple people have complained about the extra flashing causing fitment issues.

I literally walked up to the counter at their Ocala location and bought my taillights, both of which were TYC. If you look at the pictures he sent you, the TYC logo is in the lens (above the DOT), just like mine were. My taillights came in two separate boxes with different branding, with one being a TYC box and the other likely being a United Pacific. If you further look at the chrome housing in the pictures Derek sent, you can see that a label/sticker was removed at some point. The taillight from the TYC box has that sticker, and it says "TYC" on it. Wanna guess why the UP boxed light is missing the sticker?

Gary, do not buy these from NPD unless Derek can guarantee a non-TYC part.

*EDIT, I still have the boxes, so here's a photo of what I was given at the NPD Counter. You can even see NPD's usual shelf labels on them.

Shaun - Thanks!  I have emailed him saying I want to buy a pair, but I will make 100% sure I have a guarantee that they won't be TYC's.

And I'll make sure he reads these posts.  Further, when the dust settles on this I will hit every one of my 15 Ford truck Facebook pages to ensure people know.

I suspect that LMC is suffering a major email general breakdown for couple of months, if not years.

Not even an acknowledgement of receipt.

Their customer support department competes with the Kingdom Of Silence.

Jeff - In spite of Keith/@FORDification working there he's not been able to make major changes.  As we've pointed out to him their online catalog is horrible and we will not use it.  But he cannot get it changed.  He says "It is above his pay grade."

So the powers that be don't really want to improve things like that.  And given that they've not responded to my email it looks to me like they have TYC and don't care to acknowledge it.

Again, I'll make sure that all the Bullnosers I know of know of this issue and who has, or doesn't have, lights that fit.

Gary, I bought SO MUCH THINGS from LMC for Big Bro's restoration.  And when I had an issue with a chrome grill moulding, they just didn't even reply.

Completely different with Bronco Graveyard, they immediately sent me a second cluster acrylic lens (the first they sent me was scratched), no question.
