Welcome!  Glad you joined.  :nabble_anim_handshake:

You won't find a complete shop manual here 'cause Ford has licensed people to reproduce those so for me to put a whole one up would be against the law.  But you can find most of what you need already scanned in, if you know where to look, and we can put more on if needed.

Where's home?  I ask because we have a map, which you can see in the menu at Bullnose Forum/Member's Map, and we can add you with a city/state or zip/postal code.  Who knows, one of us might be a neighbor and could help you.

East TN is actual home, but for now I am living in Edgefield, SC 29821. I am restoring my 86 ford XLT Lariat and trying to track down parts and wanting a full shop manual for that year with the IDI engine but if I can just find what I need here that works for me. My first truck was an 86 xl 6.9 and I used to have a manual for it but the truck got stolen and it was in it. I have not got to search around on here yet but I am looking forward to it. I like researching things before I make big purchase buys for parts so that’s why I am here. Thanks for the welcome fellas

Hey, welcome James!

You found the right group, lots of Bullnose Geeks here (I'm not one of them, THEY helped me a lot!)

So I suppose you prefer that Gary puts your new address on the map?

You are now on the map.  As for documents, here are just a few to get you started:

  • 1986 EVTM: Wiring diagrams the factory shop manual doesn't have

  • 6.9L Diesel: Specifications, part numbers, timing advice, and illustrations that aren't in the FSM - as well as the FSM section

  • Diesel Diagnostics - 6.9L: Not included in the FSM
