Gary Lewis
Anyone have thoughts about this. Saw it on Facebook so I’m sure it is accurate. Hey yall I've owned my first 95 460 for almost a year now. I've mostly been a obs 7.3 guy my whole life. So back in the day I did some messing around and digging and discovered you can put a 6.0 fan (cuz they are plastic and light weight) on a obs 7.3 and eliminate a 20 pound iron fan weighing down you waterprump bearing. Well did some digging around again and a 5.4 fan off an 05-06 expedition goes on the 460! (I'd imagine this will keep the wear off the fan clutch) Moves "ALOT" of air too haha. Anyways, just thought I'd share with yall. Cheap upgrade as well. This works if you're not a fan of electric fans like me. 🤘🇺🇲
viven44
Seems like worth investigating!! I had an 07 with the 5.4 and all of this seems plausible.

salans7
I was really confused at first because the title says 5.3 which is a GM engine, but the snippet is talking about 7.3's, 7.5's, 6.0's and 5.4's. 😀
viven44
I like the Cubic inch designation better. No confusion... Not sure why they had to go to liter designation. 305, 350, 454 - Chevy 300, 302, 351, 460 - Ford Edited 1 hour ago by viven44
