Hey y'all,

Recently picked up a 1981 F150 Ranger as a project truck, it is not perfect but still a good find and a solid truck.

Trying to keep most of the work OEM with a slight lift in the near future.

I'm definitely going to need the help and knowledge of everyone here as this is my first project truck.

Dane is perfect, I currently reside in Southern Arizona, but I've spent most of my life in good ole red dirt Oklahoma!

Red dirt, so somewhere west of about Cushing?  (Lived in Cushing in the 2nd grade.) Or red sand from around Hinton?  (Still cleaning that stuff off Big Blue.)

So what part of of Southern AZ?  We could put you on the map with a city or zip.  No actual addresses please.

Closer to Yukon actually, ill tell you that red clay is something I do not miss having to clean!

South east TX also has red dirt (Longview and thereabouts)... 

Red dirt with high iron oxides... hmm... good or bad for rust ?

Thanks! And yeah definitely not the best for rust but hey one thing I can appreciate is Oklahoma putting down sand instead of salting the roads in the winter.
