This morning I realized I could look at the tailgates, which I did: Exterior/Bed, Tailgates, & Components. Turns out there is only one part number for the 1980-87 Flareside trucks. Both were "gold", but apparently different. Looking at Specifications/Exterior Paint Codes, 1980 was Desert Gold Metallic. But I don't see what the 1981 on gold was.
