Bullnose Gator
I am trying to get the AC going. It had factory AC, but the previous owner deleted the compressor and hoses. Based on everything I've learned from digging through the documentation here, I need the items below. Please let me know if I'm missing anything, or if the parts I have found are wrong. I am a novice at all of this, so interpreting manuals/part lists/wiring diagrams is pretty difficult for me. Anything yall can point me in the right direction on is appreciated. Things I CANNOT find: Compressor bracket - mine appears to be partially still there, see pic below: Discharge Hose Suction Hose Compressor Hose Manifold (if needed, not sure) Missing Wiring - I'm not even clear on what I missing, best I can tell is the C113/C228 connectors and related wiring/harnesses per the diagram, see pics below: Compressor/Accumulator/Orifice Tube Kit: http://https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09BLC4TB5/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=A2W1Y8J5EFZAEH&psc=1 Condenser: http://https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CKSXVQ/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 Evaporator Core: http://https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BN9TX6PS/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_3?smid=A31B1NF333K7B&psc=1 Liquid Line (available several places) Here are some more pics under the hood if it helps you help me, thanks in advance! salans7
It looks like you're missing just the adjusting/tension bracket at the front. I couldn't see any single brackets on Ebay, and I'm not sure how available those are. If you would like, I have my setup out of the truck currently, so I could trace that part onto some card-stock and measure it with my caliper so you can have one made. I can then send you the card-stock with the measurements on it. Just let me know.
viven44
I can tell you the wiring is not complex at all. The green wire is for the compressor clutch voltage. Should receive alternator voltage when the dash control switch is selected for AC. It is not clear in your picture but the green wire should run to the low side pressure switch and then onto the AC compressor. The black wire is just a ground, just use a multimeter and see if it is connected to battery ground. Looks like the harness may be missing. You can rig up your own or buy something like this The listing below shows it as a diesel harness but there is nothing special about a diesel vs gas for a AC harness. The one below should work if I am not mistaken. https://www.ebay.com/itm/175161979301?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=54X_PI88Q_C&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=nUjJ1bE2RVS&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY You can maybe find a parts truck to pull this harness from or make your own but that listing gives you an idea of what you need You can use this harness to connect to the compressor end if you rig up your own (I did that recently) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000C5CCNG/?coliid=I347QAMH3XAQ66&colid=3IGQF00LDI4AO&psc=1&ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_lstpd_P7KTPJ6S6940WV0ACXW7 About the orifice tube, o-reilly sells a 10 pack for $8.. it will slide into the long neck that runs to the evaporator, but watch out if that neck is bent any, it is a pain to install this orifice tube https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/murray-climate-control/air-conditioning---heating/orifice-tube/9fafe9a5178b/murray-climate-control-blue-a-c-orifice-tube/mryp/621/v/a/5316/automotive-truck-1984-ford-f-250?q=orifice+tube&pos=

salans7
That would be awesome of you, thanks my man! Okay, I'll draw it up and then reach out via email for an address. The email function on the forum is spotty, so make sure to check your junk folders too. I did remember that there's a large black half moon bracket that you're also missing. There's a complete set on Ebay that also has some of the smaller support brackets you may also be missing. It might be a good option for you as it's not too expensive and you can always attempt to re-sell the individual parts to those in your current situation that only need a piece or two. I'll leave that choice up to you. https://www.ebay.com/itm/256482472562?itmmeta=01HZJYATZWTMGFBDW8W71YXB7K&hash=item3bb78bf272:g:c0oAAOSw~lNmHyY3&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8C0avJS7TgaiYIexraaCBxVVqlmZu319hZwmZyVXM3oIB08lFbb1XlplCVLkYN6Kuwob8vy%2BgkCqeZyqXeHwSPtfSCW1acGbMNXr%2F1BvuAF3lhoCWiGJEothxJ1miujrrbbNfg1heKoe2VGxGmhEIeflzZh2Uoos3upcMGDuNldoSBj2yC%2FVmwLjt7uPKeJweSIOsGOf86j4EoP59daGTvpDEpKvFAOEFrGGWvxToXUBXD0ldt9CAlob5SpMLYyetr08UhNCwy%2F5oFxMdF8dv%2B2vq3LQ5ZcevBEf9Ac5hFfXM%2FuGhaTmoq2BcBZHpMY3yQ%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR4ywq978Yw

Mekerek
That would be a HUGE help, thank you! I knew I had seen it here .. that's why this forum is so great. Documentation -> HVAC -> Factory A/C Brackets - Gas V8s... there you go.
Bullnose Gator
I just found a 1986 F250 4x4 automatic parts truck. The bracket looks a little different, but i assume the compressor wiring harness and hoses are usable (or copyable) for mine. Can I make this work?
