He said the shortblock he built for me should be 360 - 375 HP and close to 500 lb-ft. Mine has good power, so yours should be even better. :nabble_smiley_good:

What heads do you have and are they ported?

Oh and BTW, it is *possible* to take down the oil pan with removing the transmission. If I ever have to do another rear main that's how I plan to do it. Sure sure how the gasket would work though. Or getting to the oil pump.

It is on a 2WD, I've done it on Darth. Take the mounts loose and the exhaust pipe off. Jack the engine as high as it will go (till it stops against the floor pan). Support the engine by the exhaust manifolds, if you have headers find something other than the mounts as they have to come off (maybe the adapters with the bolts reinstalled). Remove the motor mounts so you can reach all the pan bolts. Remove the pan and lower it as far as possible. Reach over into the pan and take the oil pump and pickup off and set them in the pan. You may have to turn the crank to get the pan to go back and down but it will come out.

Reassembly, the hardest part is getting the oil pump and it's drive back in. I removed the pickup so I wasn't dealing with it.
