C.Jett
My method to straighten tailgate, use your truck as a press. Blocks at each end and long 4x4 on gate. Be careful. don’t try to get it perfect, just do away with the rocking chair rocker look.CJ
Gary Lewis
And it worked? I had one on Rusty that I was tempted to try that with but was afraid to do so. Looked like someone had a giant bowling ball in the bed 'cause both the tailgate and front rail were bowed badly. But maybe that would have worked. You might get a dimple or two because the metal stretched but it sure looks better. CJ

C.Jett
That's great! I like it! Thanks, Dane, there are two short blocks, one at each end that you can’t see, right under the long 4x4. I found that it will take the full weight of the truck. If your long 4x4 has a slight bow, place the bow to the tailgate to allow more bend to happen. Line the tire at the highest point of bend in tail gate. Do bottom of tailgate first and top next. I got dimple in the top from this but it looks better than the bow.
