Hi folks

Hi y'all,

I've got a 1986 F250 6.9 IDI and a 1981 F-150 Roll-A-Long RV. The RV thread is on FTE and the diesel build thread is on Oilburners. Figured I'd bring them both to here as well since I certainly have lurked enough. Great site, especially appreciate the EVTM section since I have been referencing it daily as I do a custom wiring harness on the 86.

Welcome! I'm glad you joined. :nabble_anim_handshake:

Nice trucks! Particularly like the RV, but is an F150 able to handle that weight well? What engine is in it?

To be quite honest, I've never driven it. I got it for $500 and it is definitely a project. As far as weight handling, I figure that if the Toyota Dolphin can do it, this thing can. The Toyota Dolphin and RVs like it are powered by a 22RE and handle the weight seemingly without too much issue.

This truck has a 4.9l inline six. Which turns out had a cracked cylinder. I found a rebuilt motor for $300 (according to the guy I got it from) that hasn't been ran at all since the rebuild. Doing my research as to how to go about that. I may sell the RV after I get it running and let it be someone else's project. If I keep it I'd like to do an OM617 or OM606 Mercedes diesel swap and run it on WMO, like I am doing on my blue truck.

I am doing a 2005 Super Duty axle swap in my blue truck. I may put the Sterling 10.25 on the RV instead. It currently has the 9" 3.08 rear with 33" tires.

For the RV, I upgraded to HEI GM style ignition, deleted all of the smog nonsense except for the cat, and I'll be putting a two barrel carb on it with a 1 barrel to 2 barrel adapter. The new motor is an EFI motor so it'll have better airflow. I've got an Offy C intake, but I need to make a decision on which way I am going with this truck before I commit to putting it on. After all, the intake could be worth more than the truck.
