Dana 50 TTB Coil Spring Kit

Recommended Posts

Whoops. I fixed the link and it works for me. Oddly enough so does yours.

Yep, that works.

And while $3K may seem like a lot, I probably had way more than that in the D60 SAS/RSK SuperDuty spring setup for Big Blue. Not only did I have to buy the D60 and the SkyOffroad kit, but I had to have the D60 re-geared. And add shocks and springs. So $3K isn't that bad.

However, I had a D44 HD and not a D50. In fact, I'd guess that about half of the F250's have the D44 HD as it was the Supercabs that got the D50. So they need to also have the D44 as an option.

But I'll bet that setup rides MUCH better than a leaf-sprung TTB!

I just chatted with Patrick at Complete Performance and he said:

So with the D44HD, we use the same kit as the D50, but we would need your beams sent in first. Only some slight differences in the D50 -D44HD beams. Same price for the kit, but just need your beams to build it out.

I also asked him what the travel is with that kit since Big Blue initially had ~2" of travel with the TTBs and leaf springs, but now has ~8" of travel with the D60/Sky RSK & SD springs. His answer was:

Roughly about 8".

We also offer a coil over kit, that has 14" of travel. Dana 50 Coil-Over Conversion Kit includes Dana 50 TTB Cut N’ Turned and Modified to accept Radius Arm ($350 core charge included in price – read more)

  • Welded 1/4″ Diff skid plate and 1″ uniball cups in beam pivots

  • King Coilovers 2.5 x 12″

  • 1.25″ Heimed Extended Radius Arms with Pivot Brackets and Hardware

  • Coil-over Conversion Engine Cage

  • Alignment Cams

  • 3-Piece Extended Brake Line Kit

Add-ons:

  • Plated Beams: We also offer additional beam plating. Which includes plating the front, back, top, and bottom of both beams. We weld a truss and skid plate to the driver’s beam for additional strength.

  • Radius Arm Overlay Plates: Top and Bottom overlay plates MIG welded to the radius arms.

  • Full Plated Radius Arms: Side plating on the radius arm for a boxed look, and top and bottom overlay plates

They have a short video on Instagram demonstrating off road performance on a mostly stock truck with only aftermarket rear leaf springs and it looks pretty good.

That'd be tempting in the upcoming restoration of my '97 F-250 CCSB. But it gives a 3" - 4" lift. That's not surprising, but for me it's not acceptable and is the same reason I'm not going to do a solid axle swap. I guess I'm sticking with the TTB and leafs.

The video is interesting, but I wonder how Big Blue would do on similar terrain?

As for the lift, yes they both get about the same lift, and it really made a huge difference on Big Blue. Now it is much more difficult to get in the cab for Janey - but she does it. :nabble_smiley_wink:
