Nothing Special Posted March 28, 2023 Share Posted March 28, 2023 seeing this picture makes me want a slide in camper! flat towing the bronco, I could do that too. That's exactly why I had a slide-in camper. I want to go camping with my Bronco, so either I need a camper my Bronco can pull, or a camper that can pull my Bronco. And actually it was the '75 CJ-5 I had before the Bronco that was the factor. And it was TERRIBLE on the highway! So camper towing the Jeep (and now Bronco) was the way to go. Back in '99 when I bought the slide-in I had kids ages 3 and 5, and I didn't have the budget for a motorhome. Plus I had just downsized from an F-250 to an F-150 the year before. So an ultralight slide-in was the best fit. Fast forward 20 years, and as empty-nesters with a few promotions and raises under my belt, the budget was in better shape.
