Bed mounted spare tire carrier [E0TZ-1405-C] - used

Recommended Posts

It's missing one or two crucial pieces, depending if you have a 6' or 8' bed.

The Reinforcement bracket:

E0TZ-1407-A / Before 3/83 = None Found

E3TZ-1407-G / 6' 3/4 Bed - After 3/83 = One Found on Ebay:

E3TZ-1407-H / 8' Bed - After 3/83 = Two Found on Ebay.

Without this piece, the weight of the tire could split the bedside away from the front panel of the bed, at the top.

and also missing:

This piece is to level out the tire between the wheel well and the front panel of the truck bed on short bed models. Without it the tires weight will not ride on the bottom of the bed as it should, but rather on the front panel, where it can split the bedside away from the front panel.

A similar thing can happen installing top rail tool boxes, without a reinforcement kit.

A nice piece, but would hate for someone to install it without it being complete and do damage.
