IowaTom
I believe my '85 F150 has a Carter wannabe 1 bb carb which works fine, as long as the engine is fully warmed. If I try to drive her before the gauge is almost to operating temp, she's real sluggish. I'm guessing the choke isn't opening as it should... Any ideas on what to try? Thanks! Gary Lewis
It could be either opening too slowly or too quickly. Too slowly might even blow black smoke and be sluggish. Too quickly would probably cause the engine to fall on its face when you try to accelerate and maybe even die. But might run ok with a lot of throttle. I'll start it with the air cleaner off and watch. :-)
