I agree as those should be PMGR. Please let us know as I want a PMGR for Dad's truck but want to use one from a local parts store rather than the high dollar Powermaster.

well, I'm happy to report a success. I installed a motorcraft SA794PRM. this is a motorcraft reman that I ordered through RA. roughly 100 dollars. with a little wiring added on lets just round it to 125 with shop supplies etc. it took me an hour including going to the store to buy wire terminals that should have been restocked earlier. I need to talk to me about that.

first turn of the key and it was running, and I heard the starter wind down as quickly as I could let go of the key. I chose a motorcraft reman due to having seen a few mis fits with new starters sold at many parts stores. I've even seen a few broken starters because the installer refused to accept that it would not fit the hole in the separator plate. going with a factory base is a better bet. imo
