The following statement from the 2nd link is not correct if by frames the floor pan is meant: "All of ford's frames were stamped with all the different seat combinations(bench, bucket, ect...) from 73-86."

I cannot speak for the 1979 and earlier floor pans, but at least from 1980 on there was a floor pan shared by the regular cab and crew cab trucks, and a floor pan shared by Supercabs and Broncos.  A seat from one will not bolt into the other.  And it was the Supercabs and Broncos that got the bucket seats, which will not bolt into a regular or crew cab.

Having said that, the MPC confuses me as it only shows one set of seat tracks for the full-width seats, as shown below.  However, the Supercab got either the bench seat or buckets, so where is the seat tracks for their bench seat?  Ralph????  What am I missing?

From what I remember, the outer seat hole dimensions are the same.  It's the inner holes where it becomes the problem.

This is why the track for the full seat works as stated in the MPC for all F-100/350 U-150.

The Supercab and Bronco got the split bench, where the crew and regular cab got the full back bench. Those tracks listed should fit both kinds.

Thanks for everybody's input, to try and keep this short looks like you can swap new to old seats so there shouldn't be a reason i cant go from old to newer. that said there was no way i was going  to pass this up from a 1979 Dark green Ranger in near perfect condition for $100. it matches my spruce green interior nice. just picked it up today and will see if i need to swap rails or not. having troble posting picture im working on it

That's a nice seat!

My 1973 F-100 had a blue one similar to that. Really comfortable for a bench seat.

I've seen a 1972 F-350 in the yard with a 1980-1986 style seat in it, so I know it's possible to do.

How much work? Never tried it myself so don't know.

Changed  the rails off my 81 seat and they bolted right up the 79 seat no problem. took all of 10 minutes have not put the seat back in yet it rain here for three days plus i'm thinking about putting carpet in because when i tried to clean the spruce green rubber floor the green started to come off. I dont want carpet but it looks like it is my beast opposition because i don't want a black floor. i put pictures of the differant rails in here and even if the outer holes would have lined up the front hole bracket is at an angle and would not work.

I have not seen a "new" colored floor mat in 30 years.

And Spruce green was rare 30 years ago
