  1. Where to begin troubleshooting this? I put a new tank in a month ago. Same sender. Everything was good until yesterday.
  2. I was dead in the water and it was a grounding issue. Grind off some paint and make sure everything is grounded really well. Grab an extra relay and swap that out. I'll get some pictures posted later today. Improper ground is the most common blocker. The DUI has some troubleshooting tips. I ran my HEI distributor with the carter carb and no vacuum advance for several months before I removed the stock intake and exhaust manifold. https://performancedistributors.com/professional-tips/
  3. Hey, I got an email that someone's putting a DUI dizzy on their six. I'm here and will do my best to help. My setup is still working great!
  4. No, none of the 1980 - 1986 tanks are baffled. In 1985/86 when EFI was introduced they placed a low pressure lift pump in the tank that kept a plastic reservoir filled on the frame which is where the high pressure EFI fuel pump mounted on the frame pulled fuel from. It was a band aid done by Ford to work around fuel slosh. If you source a '85-'86 tank the hole is big enough to reach your hand down into the tank and weld some baffling plates in to help hold the fuel in the sump area. This is what I plan on doing. When I look at the 16 gallon side mount tanks on Rock Auto there appears to be no difference between a 1986 vs. a 1996. I wonder if the '92-'96 tanks are baffled? Is the diameter of the sender hole the same?
  5. So I purchased the 4 barrel sniper kit with the external pump and regulator. I want to just buy a new factory 16 gallon side tank. Are any of the tanks baffled? Should I buy a new sending unit? My truck has a straight six that originally had the feedback carb. It currently has the Weber 38 from the clifford kit. Does the tank matter? Should I just order a new tank and sending unit for my year make and model?
  6. I'm pricing out converting my inline 6 to use a holley sniper. It currently has a Weber 2 barrel. I noticed the huge thread by Rusty on his fuel injection adventure. Could I just buy a new tank and sending unit for a 92-96 model? This would provide the return lines. Are there any other parts needed for the fuel tank?
  7. Gary, thanks for looking but the outer diameter on these pulley's is too large. I did find a pulley that is 2 inches and appears to be a reliable fix so far.
  8. That’ll be great! Sadly I can’t be at the swap meet but I’m willing to Venmo or PayPal if it’s a fit.
  9. I have finally reached a possible solution although it’s not ideal. I found a 50mm wide by 55mm diameter idler pulley but it’s ribbed for a serpentine belt. It fits the space perfectly and prevents the need for the awkward spacer. Will the ribbed pulley destroy the backside of the belt? I found a smooth pulley with similar dimensions but it doesn’t have the side walls. Unfortunately it’s about $150 because it’s for a supercharger. It has been very difficult to find a fix. I like this setup better. Here is the original that failed. Here is the new one
  10. Can the 460 be bored and rebuilt? Owning Gary’s father’s engine is a piece of modern bullnose history. Gary, if nobody takes it at $500 I’m interested and will investigate having it picked up and shipped. I did buy my 86 on the internet and had it delivered.
  11. How do I remove the interior metal trim piece above the windshield? Do I pry it off slowly? I tinkered with it last night and got really nervous about cracking the glass. I am color matching all the trim so I need to strip everything out.
  12. I would be interested in the idler pulley assembly pulley. Does your setup have the bolt adjustable tension pulley near the power steering pump?
  13. I found a dayco pulley that may work. Again I think the hardware failed as the pulley appears to be fine. I will need to find a reducer to step the size down to hold an 11mm bolt.
