  1. Ha I said I wasn’t a car guy when I joined. But I like the argument about it saving me money this way.
  2. Definitely leaning towards getting one. My factory cover needs a new gasket...so might as well buy a super expensive part to replace everything then? At least that’s what I tell my wife. The videos from Banks are very compelling.
  3. Scott, Excuse my ignorance here, does this fit our rigs (86 460's?) The fitment tab on their site doesn't list our trucks. Sorry if this is a simple question. Dan
  4. Quick update on my bug deflector mission. I found this old accessory on ebay for a few bucks and threw it on. Took some work, didn't like being uncoiled after over twenty years in the package, but whatever terrifying chemicals they used to make it worked, as it was still workable and shiny. Helps complete my "as 80's as possible" aesthetic along with my 76 antenna ball. Not for everyone, but definitely for me.
  5. An update, I found this NOS Owens Classic model in LA, and got it installed today. It’s notched on the back to allow a subtle bend to accommodate our trucks, and was simple to install. Regarding the smoke one I linked to earlier in Kansas, the seller agreed to your suggestion Scott of sending a prepaid box, but I no longer have a need, as I like the blue better than the smoke, so there is potentially a great deal out there for another forum member! Best, Dan I have no idea why the photo is upside down. I blame posting from my phone.
  6. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/301574521152233 Anyone live in Kansas? The seller isn't willing to ship, but appears to be the fit for our trucks, and cheap!
  7. Oh my that green is awesome!

  9. Thanks Whisler, but I am stuck on the look of the vertical ones, don’t know why. I really appreciate the offer though! Best, Dan
  10. I’d love a old style vertical bug deflector for my 86 F250. It had one long ago that was removed, and I love the look. OEM or aftermarket, not too picky, but they’re proving near impossible to find. No color preference, but Red would be best. Thanks in advance, Dan
  11. Home is actually Vashon Island, Washington. A little island community in Puget Sound, close to Seattle. Moved to Seattle 15 years ago, and been on Vashon going on 6 now. Allows me to work in the city (I'm an architect), but go home to the country (Vashon is very rural) everyday. Also saves me gas as I don't have to drive this hog to work, I take a boat And yes, the valves were expensive Thanks for the welcome!
  12. Morning Everyone, My name is Dan, and last year after a windstorm crushed my two previous cars, I inherited this 1986 F250HD XLT Lariat (now known as 'Burt') from my Father. Since I am also 34 years old, it seems a bit like destiny. The truck had one prior owner to my Dad, who drove it twice a year commuting from Northern Idaho to winter in Arizona with his fifth wheel, so it has only 60k original miles, and all the associated service records. It was garaged in Idaho, but exposed in Arizona, so while the truck is rust free, there is some paint wear on both the hood and roof. All the bells and whistles work, except, which as I've come to read is a common issue, the duel fuel tanks (only the front works). Luckily the mechanic where I live is a friend, and has a similar rig (84 F250) that he already fixed, so I'm in the process of doing that now. I've never been into cars before getting this, too many other hobbies, but I've really enjoyed diving into this thing and cleaning it up since I got it, and this website has been a great help. Anyways, here are a few photos, and thanks everyone for unknowingly contributing to my newfound passion so far. Dan
