  1. Thanks Scott, appreciate ya! BTW, it looks like the black bumper pad is being made. NPD shows Scott drake parts while LMG advertises them but no specified manufacture.
  2. My friend had a piece of trim done for his 55 f100 and that was 400 bucks by itself. Rehashing this old thread! After the truck show yesterday, decided it was time to acquire a new diamond step bumper. Not liking what I've found in the aftermarket arena. Westin looks good but is missing the cut outs that contour the rear of the truck. Maybe there is a better aftermarket piece? I've read that bumpers from 80-96 are interchangeable, is this correct? I've also heard that Ford produced an all chrome diamond step bumper without the black bumper pad. Is this true and if so, what year? I'm thinking we need a bumper section in our Documentation that answers some of the above. If I overlooked it, I may take this on with forum help!
  3. As always, good seeing a meeting a bunch you gentlemen! It was a great time! Thank you, Gary!!!
  4. I think this works! Two different ballots with owners voting for all categories and non owners voting for "crowd favorite". I gotta say, I do like the idea of a best survivor, but then we would need to define "survivor". In my mind, this is essentially an untouched original. That said, might be too close to the show to add that category. Maybe look into it next year? On line aspect of the show would be cool too! Gary, can't remember the name of your Church youth guy that videoed and photographed all the trucks last year, but he did a phenomenal job on that. Hope to see that again this year. Might be a lot of work and getting pictures and video uploaded in a timely manner would be difficult but something to consider.
  5. Wasn't sure what a favicon was, so I googled it: "Favicons can help users quickly identify your website among a sea of open tabs. Plus, they make it easy for users to find your website easily in their browser history. The more consumers see your favicon, the more likely they'll recognize your logo the next time they see it." Based off that, and the fact that the Cow Favicon has been linked to our website for so long, I say leave it alone. If the website were new and under development, I'd go with the truck Favicon. BTW, thinking about putting mirrors on the truck logo. When time permits, may toss that up here to see what you think.
  6. Love this truck in it's Christmas decor! Late to the scene here, but hoping all had a blessed and wonderful Christmas! God's blessing for all of you in the new year!
  7. I never got around to responding to this thread regarding the constant tension hose clamps. Indeed, I ordered them but could not get them on with any available pliers that I have. At least, not the larger clamps for the radiator hoses. Appropriate tool cost $60 and I just could justify the expense. I merely tightened the OEM clamp which seemed to alleviate my leak. And Gary, as you mentioned, I don't think the constant tension clamps would be right for the higher pressures of your power steering lines. I believe you're on the right path though with what you're looking at.
  8. I too am very happy with the service I received though Blue Top. Every aspect of the transaction was five star. I'm talking communication, shipping/packaging and quality of the workmanship. And here's something for you! I wanted my original steering box to be rebuilt. I even called them on this expressing my desire for it and confirming a few other questions I had about the process. Following their instructions on that matter, I shipped it out only to receive it not more that three days after I shipped it. Initially, I struggled to believe that the unit that they sent back to me was mine, as I got it back so quickly. That is until I opened the box and inspected my markings and other identifiers. I called them that day and told them how impressed I was that they had it back to me so quick. I can't remember the gentleman's name but he said, "we don't fool around here, we get things done." The steering box was fully painted, looked awesome and, even better, works wonderfully. In fact, I don't believe the steering on my truck has ever been this good, even when new. Love my Blue Top steering box!!!
  9. Gary, it seems I read on here a month or so back that Blue Top was exiting the scene. I thought that was really sad news, as I was so impressed in the service that I got from them. I was so impressed that I posted up a thread here somewhere. Anyway, good to hear they are still out there.
  10. Hey friends, just wanted to say thank you for your thoughts and prayers throughout my surgery and recovery. Recovery is slow but I’m getting around and feeling better every day. Some of you may or may not know but I had triple bypass surgery 10/6. Over the past year I’ve noted a gradual decline in my level of energy such that I had to really motivate myself to get off the sofa. That is not me. I’m an active guy that rides bikes (bicycles), works out and plays tennis two to three times a week. In fact, it was while playing tennis that I noted some chest pain which ultimately led me to the cardiologist. Sadly, as much as nine months back, I’d notice this same pain during exertion, but it would quickly reside. The last time I played, the pain did not go away. I’ve always prided myself on being in pretty good shape for my age and this came as a real surprise to me. This was not lifestyle so much as it was genetics. My father passed away at age 57 from the same thing. Frankly, I got lucky and am grateful that God has allowed me to continue on in this life. That said, know your family history and don’t ignore your body’s pains. We, especially men, are real good about brushing this type of stuff off. Thanks again and God’s blessings to you all. John
  11. Scott, you going to check out the Gathering Place? I think your daughter will love it. Enjoy tonight fellas, see you tomorrow!
  12. I'm with Gary on this! I put that same carpet in my shortbed 86 and it went in nice and fit great. I'd pull the old stuff, fix the floor and install the carpet. Personally, I wouldn't even think of hacking that carpet up.
  13. Well that's a dang shame! I was very pleased with both the service and the product they provided me with. Interesting that their reason for closing is an inability to find help. I see that in my own area of work. We pay $18 an hour to answer phone calls and address customer service and also struggle to find help.
  14. I can go with this too! However, and this is my opion only; on the crowd favorite stuff, ballots go out only to people entering trucks. One ballot only, no family members given ballots.
