  1. I agree that 3.55 with 33s is a bit high geared. I drove my 1988 F350 for about 4 years, and that truck has that combination. Good on the highway though! My truck, currently with 285/75r17 (34x11.5s) and 4.10 gearing is begging for another gear. The ZF5 will be a definite upgrade, and I may be able to afford to drive the truck more often! My parts truck is my 1988 F350 4x4. My options are to pair the ZF5 with the the 88's PTO BW1356, or the original BW1345. My main concern is not cutting a hole in the cab floor. I will not do it. I don't know which transfer case I want to run, as depending on overall length, my rear driveshaft may be getting a little short (F250 driveshaft with 4" F350 lift blocks in back) and if the ZF ends up being shorter, that may not be ideal. What is likely is the entire F350 drivetrain (driveshafts, trans, and transfer case) all going into the F250. Then the only thing to worry about is linkage, and sourcing the correct BW1345 linkage for the F350's side T-case lever. I am planning to do this swap before the snow falls as the F350 will be outside during the swap, so I am really hoping to not get snagged on the T-case issues.
  2. Hi Gary, The dana 60 is definitely being enjoyed. For my intended uses with the truck, I probably don't need the strength of a dana 60, but having the heavier duty, and simpler (Kingpins and monobeam etc) is worth the upgrade. I also like that the truck sits up about 2.5" higher. This upgrade has been something I have wanted to do for years. I'm glad I was finally able to make it happen! Next up is the ZF5 swap, either this fall or winter, depending on my schedule. I don't mean to hijack my own thread, but may I ask you Gary, what transfer case, linkage, and rear driveshaft are you running with your ZF5? Thanks, Noah
  3. I have a Dana 44HD TTB front axle out of my 1986 F250. I have recently swapped in a kingpin dana 60, so I have no use for the axle. The axle comes with the beams, spindles, rotors, hubs, sway bar, driveshaft, pitman arm, steering linkage, transfer case front yoke, leaf springs, upper and lower shock mounts, and the shocks themselves. Everything is in great condition, the truck has 141k miles. The gear ratio is 4.10. Free to a good home, located in Duluth, MN If I can't give the axle or even parts away, I'll be forced to scrap it due to lacking room to store. The axle currently Beginning to remove the axle The truck currently, sitting on a Dana 60.
  4. Rodeo, are you still on the hunt for a lower housing for that toolbox? I know of one in a yard with a broken lid and missing hinge (mine:nabble_smiley_happy:) From what I remember, it was fully intact. I will be grabbing the fender reinforcement for somebody on here, so I might as well grab the whole thing. I’m sure parting out a toolbox setup is seldom done...
  5. Good point, Thanks Gary. I’m still getting used to this forum, and overlooked that.
  6. Looking for a 1988-1997 Power steering and A/C bracket from a van/camper/box truck with the 460 motor with the poly vee dual belt system. Used to swap over to a saginaw power steering pump. Can trade other parts as well.
  7. Do you still have the tire carrier? If so, what would shipping to 55406 be? Thanks!
  8. IDI Bronco, I have this bumper off of a 1987 Chevy if that would be more your style. I also have an 88 F350 that would love to get your bricknose style winch bumper... See where I'm going http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/uploads/6/5/8/7/65879365/head-rotfl-57x22_orig.gif Let me know if thats anything you'd be interested in!
  9. Also, in regard to the rectangular KC lights you were looking for, why not try a Bosch Profi 210? they take an H3 and were Available from the dealer. I have a set on my bricknose pickup in the clear driving beam (amber was optional) The amber lights on the truck are Cibie 175s which take an H2. Those were pulled off of an E350 ambulance. The NOS Ford set (also clear driving) will find its way onto my own warn classic sometime in the future.
  10. Looking good guys! I'm glad that measurements were able to be figured out. It's too bad I wasn't home recently to get them myself. Gary, I'm surprised that your bumper has an added reinforcement in the bracketry. I have the same bumper style as you, the only real difference being that mine is multipiece vs your single chrome version. When looking at the instructions, it does not show that, but then again, your bumper may have different installation instructions. Do you have the angle aluminum that sticks out and keeps the wings from moving? After next week, I'll be home for a week and will be able to attend to the truck. I'll probably get it out and washed! That of course leads to pictures!Who knows, maybe I'll even get the 8274 that came with my bumper working..
