  1. I'm curious what 3M VHB will do with older trim pieces like the ones that originally relied on clips. I'm slightly worried it would leave a minor gap, but I have never had anything prepped and applied with VHB come loose, even in hurricane force winds.
  2. Maybe I'm a lucky millennial lol. I was taught how roads run based on the number and where they are located. IE Odd numbers run N/S and evens run E/W. Given a cross reference you can place yourself anywhere in the US like a grid reference. I40 and I 95 for example would put me half way up the east coast. Where I8 and I5 would put me in the South West. I got to be the transition generation from Atlas, to map quest, to gps. I also have a really good sense of direction and only need to go someplace once and I am typically good, or as long as I know where it is generally from my position I can find my way there. Maybe I'm just autistic 😂 but it's like I have a mental map overlay. I taught my daughter to have an Atlas at all times simply because GPS can fail, and will fail in certain areas of the country. It's as important to have in the car as road flares and first aid kits.
  3. 3D printer made it in and I am doing a test run now. I want to get a few ruby printing nozzles for printing glass or carbon fiber reinforced nylon 6 or nylon 12. The fiber in these will wear down the nozzle quickly. Then I need to get me some solid dimensions, maybe even just make my own, and I can start a test run on brackets and tool boxes. I am going to try a phone app that scans objects and converts them to 3d models before investing in a dedicated scanner. This will allow me to replicate other parts quickly.
  4. Yep 85 460. I think this splice is power provided to the cab somewhere. It was "spliced" in the relay terminal and was a heavier gauge yellow wire. I'll get it sorted. I am working through the driver side engine bay harness now and finished fixing all the damage to the lightning part of the harness. Anything you can see with red tape in this picture is stuff that is damaged that I have identified and will be replacing. I do have a red wire that's soft and spongy like a fuse link but is very much not a fuse link. I need to determine what it is next and decide if it's meant to be that way or is a failed wire.
  5. The 7.5L is Duraspark vs EEC so there is that to take into consideration. Which of these is actually applicable. I'm trying to find that 3rd pump in the schematic or EVTM. I have also concluded that splice numbers between the schematic and 1985 EVTM cannot be trusted You can see the EVTM calls this splice S-101 and the same splice on the schematic is S-211. So now it's just trying to piece together what I have of the old harness and match it to the documents as b st as possible
  6. I am looking at my Haynes manual which has some schematics including later years and the EVTM. There may be a clue here: Later years and also 1985 5.0 had EEC control and circuit 37(yellow wire) power goes from the starter relay and then splices off before hitting the fuel pump cut off relay FIRST then the relay puts power to the Inertia switch. After the inertia switch power is spliced and sent to both the inline fuel pump and then the selector for front or rear fuel pumps. On the 7.5L for 1985 the relay and inertia switch are reversed. Power comes off the Starter relay (always hot) through the inertia switch then through splice S-110 then into the fuel pump cut off relay. Whatever that splice goes to is going to be always hot under normal conditions. Now comparing those to the chassis electrical schematics in my Haynes manual. The yellow wire off the the starter relay provides power to: EEC Peer Relay ECM Ignition Switch Haz/Stop light 20A fuse in the fuse box. So I believe it's going to be associated with one of those or the inline fuel pump. I am leaning towards the latter as it makes sense that it doesn't need to be part of the tank selector. It could be that it is putting power to the inline fuel pump as that is not shown here and correct me if I am wrong there have always been 3 electric pumps for this system in this configuration.
  7. Well I found S-110 in the schematics on page 4 but the wires to that splice are completely different than shown in the EVTM so I am even more confused at this point...
  8. We are safe, I didn't go to work today then about an hour after my shift starts I get an emergency alert saying everyone who lives west of Summerville along hwy 78, hwy 27 etc go home and stay home and if you are home shelter in place and don't leave. So good thing I didn't go. Jedburg road and everything from 78 to I26E including the east bound lanes of I26 are under 4 feet of water. Side note I am working on my harness now that the house is quiet again I am trying to find information on since S110. Is this just a service splice? I feel like there should be a third wire here and I don't know what 1985 schematic to find it in.
  9. News article this morning. Moncks Corner really got it in the wee hours. Hopefully your family on that said eis safe ArdWrknTrk. https://www.counton2.com/news/local-news/flash-flood-emergency-underway-in-moncks-corner/
  10. Well we are.getting hammered they just declared a flash flood emergency telling people to get to high ground now. 5 more inches has fallen so far tonight bringing us to 23 and there is active high water rescues going on.
  11. This Debby storm refuses to die and is heading North. Will hit us tomorrow (Friday raining all day). Normally, we call it a huge rain storm here. But compared to what you had, we’ll take this 4" of water philosophically. Still dumping on us. As of the news article I read yesterday Summerville SC had the most rainfall at that time in the state at 17.97". And the bands keep coming around dumping more at around a 1/3rd an inch per hour. Drove home at 8 and those clouds got green and low and the bottom fell out and has been dumping on and off since.
  12. Yep this was a test. I had some metal card but they were too small and too thin and warped in the laser. I used the wood piece to see how it would lay out. I have not been able to measure the actual door tag due to weather. Inhave some 4"*4" aluminum blanks coming in and some 2.4" x 3.9" anodized aluminum blanks coming in as well bet Debby is messing up my deliveries. It also appears the Ranger became a victim to flying plate glass from somewhere.
  13. Not sure if I posted this or not but made a first pass test run on a piece of wood for a door tag.
  14. A lot of the water had receeded for now. We have been pleasantly surprised.
  15. We are solid, Moncks Corner Arby's/Walmart got it.
