  1. I'm glad to see the Florida Man emoji is still available for all to use.
  2. I love the cover photo function on our profiles. I put up a little memorial to my F150.
  3. Testing the photo upload function. So far I like it.
  4. Just to update this thread, Scott (kramttocs) was able to find one in a salvage yard for me. Thanks Scott!
  5. I believe 1987 is when Ford started offering rear bumpers with a plastic pad as that's what my dad's 1987 F150 had.
  6. I wonder what those two colors cost to special order. So, your truck was similar in color(s) to mine but not the same. Thanks for confirming. Check out the documentation section at the top of the page. I can't guarantee it, but there may be some literature regarding glamour color pricing. I finally did what I should have done 10+ years ago and drilled the holes for the Trailer Special mirror in brown truck's door. I didn't have a riv-nut tool back then and was too scared to mess the doors up, which is why it was never done. You can see the truck originally came with the Type 5 chrome mirrors since the gasket for those mirrors left a mark on the door. The mirror you see on the door is the one I bought specifically for this door, so I still have the ones for my F350 as well.
  7. Locally, yes. Ebay, not really. I see sets come across there from time to time. The ones on my F150 were "clones" as I added the woodgrain and the Lariat trim panels myself. They originally were just Ranger/XL panels. The rosewood panels are just like my last set, 20 footers. They're torn up in places. I may decide to have them vinyl wrapped at some point but I'm not sure how I would do the speaker area.
  8. I have recently been on a buying spree for my F350, and one of the purchases was an OEM set of door panels. They aren't the same ones that were in my F150, but they're black XLT/Lariat panels which is what I wanted. I've been working on cleaning them up, and at some point I will need to add the 1980-only Lariat trim panels (above the armrests) that I have for it. One of the new door panels with a map pocket from my old F150: What the door panels looked like on my F150 (same map pocket in both photos):
  9. Everybody have a good time! I've been trying to make it out there at some point but I just can't get things to line up.
  10. Things weren't any better in 2013-2014. I worked for an Advance Auto store that was originally the only auto parts store in the area for years. Autozone came right before I started and immediately took half the sales. Then Walmart came and took the oil change sales, some battery sales, and that of the piddly things on the sales floor. Despite this, Advance never dropped the sales goals for my store. About 6 months after I started, they implemented a new sales goal policy where you were written up if you did not meet your sales goals for the period. I worked the late shift (2-9pm), so of course I never made my sales goals since they were astronomical. Once you hit 4 writeups, they terminated you. I made it to three write ups, and then put in my notice so that my last day was the day prior to when they would have likely terminated me. Only one person from my store ended up not getting termed, mainly because he only worked 10 hours a week and his position wasn't included in the sales goals requirements. I won't feel sad when Advance goes belly up. They did it to themselves.

  12. Thanks Gary and Dane! My old truck was Dark Chamois Metallic (8A) and Pastel/Light Sand (6D). Your original colors were an extra cost "Glamour" option. Both of your colors were 1980 only, and the Light Sand on my truck was also 1980 only. There were three 'Glamour" colors in 1980 and your truck had two of them.
  13. That won't work as there's full glass in the door. It's a complete door now. I'm thinking of building one or two brackets for where the hinges would go, and maybe something on the striker side. We'll have to see.
  14. Made some progress on the door recently. It's a functional door again, with all lock hardware re-attached and the windows installed with new weatherstripping. The only thing I'm missing is the lower 1980 specific door trim molding. That may take some time to find (for a reasonable price), so my next step is to figure out how to hang it on the wall (concrete block). If I really wanted to go crazy, I could source a door panel and another map pocket for the door, but I don't really want to spend more money on this door than I already have since you won't see the inside of the door anyway.
