  1. Finished the first weekend with the new to me rig. Have a long to-do list to get it up to a good enough baseline to start using it; and the Wife is not a fan of lawn ornaments. - Valve cover gasket - Push rod cover gasket - New spark plugs - New spark plug wires - Oil change W/ Filter - Harness repairs (A few spots where it was just the bare copper wire) - New Air filter - Tightened the Oil pan bolts - Changed the wiper blades - General oil cleanup Plenty of fluids to change yet, and brakes to be bled, and a set of tires to get mounted (old ones are date stamped at least 20 years ago)
  2. My assumption, though probably wrong, based upon the images I've seen, and the part numbers I've been referencing and such that a lot of the newer rads are the 27" core size, as opposed to the 21" core I have now. As LMC was unable to give me any of the measurements, I didn't want to pick up another shroud that is going to need to be cut down significantly. This might all be stemming from ArdWrknTrk's comment above, that the 300 only had a finger guard, and I've been wasting my time in this search.
  3. Might have to end up doing this, myself. Would rather try my hand at building the cradles/stirrups before jumping both feet in with a radiator I might not be able to use before any warranty is up. The wife is already not pleased with the project list. Would you happen to have any notes from when you built your set? Depth and such?
  4. I appreciate that, I did check out, and reached out to LMC before posting. They were unable to provide me fitment details, and the site at the moment is stating that it's for the later years 87-96 IIRC.
  5. Hey Gents, With the bumper solved, and my to-do list growing. I'm taking a stab at the cooling system. Given the context of having a large push bumper on the front, the highway mileage on this rig is probably very low, as an extension of this, I found after about 30 minutes of driving (Both stop and go, and up at highway speeds) on a warm ~85 degree day, when I parked I had boiling water, steam and all in the overflow. I expect that some of this was due to the push bumper obscuring some of the front, old coolant, and an old radiator cap (the one on the rig now is a 16#) and/or thermostat. I'll be addressing these concerns in good time. As I am getting this stuff together I discovered that I am missing the radiator shroud, and based on the parts numbers, and references I'm finding, it seems that someone swapped a radiator into this rig at some point that is potentially undersized. (21", single core (E2TH-8005-AZA). Additionally, it appears that my cooling fan is on a clutch, which my reading seems to point to rigs with A/C which this rig does not have. I say this as I cannot seem to find any shrouds available for this radiator, only for the 27". Starting to feel like I should be tracking down an "early" 1980-84 style (To avoid the need to modify the support) 27" radiator to work with the shrouds that appear to be commercially available. With the context above. I have the following questions. 1) Does anyone know of a supply for the shroud on the 21" rad that even if it is not an exact match, could be modified to fit? 2) would it be worth it from a parts compatibility/availability standpoint to pick up the larger 27" model for when I'm doing this cooling system refresh?
  6. Thanks... now to arrange getting this back to them, and the search keeps going..
  7. Thankfully, this was not the case. But based on what I'm looking at, the yard mis-labeled a bumper. So I'm now staring at taking time off work to get down there to give it back to them, get charged a re-stock fee and keep looking. Unless there is something that can be salvaged here. The bumper looks like this. There is a bunch of mounting hardware on the back, but the holes center to center are about 44", the holes in the bumper proper are 46". the holes in the frame are... ~37.5"? based on my reading of the manuals here, it should all be the same, because same part number and such... Am i missing additional hardware here, or is there another set of holes i should be looking at? image of the back of the bumper. Understandably, I can pull out the drill, and make 'new' mounting holes after going all the measuring and such.. But I'd rather not hack something up that might be worth something to someone else in it's current state. Some potential identifiers

  9. Thanks for the pictures, that'll help me know what I'm looking at before I start tearing it apart. Luckily a local scrap yard by me has one that I'll be picking up this afternoon.
  10. Famous last words of any project.
  11. Thankfully, It appears to utilize some pretty stock mounting locations, and I cannot find where it might have been otherwise attached to the frame. So going back to "stock", at least for the time being, should be in the cards. Going to have to be real careful with early project selection on this, as I lack a lot of the "Heavier Duty" tooling, and the knowhow to use it. (Plasma cutting, welding, etc..)
  12. Yeah... I'm looking around for an option to replace it.. Way too heavy up there..
  13. Per the Odometer, it's about 98.8k, but I've nothing to back that up or how many times it Might have rolled over. It was used privately before the dealer bought it so the only time it was registered/mileage checked was about a year ago. It might be near that, as the interior is reletively clean, the pedals aren't worn like most others I've seen when they hit 200-300k. And it's hard to rack up too many miles when you're "not supposed" to take it on public roads. Thanks for the brand recommendations, your guess is as good as mine for if O2s exist. I haven't done a deep dive yet beyond a surface level PPI.
