  1. Time for an update. The floor patch has been bed-lined. Here's what it looks like, although the liner hasn't yet cured so it still has a sheen to it. But when it cures it'll blend perfectly with the other. Then I put the cab back on the frame, and was to the point of looking up the torque values for the mounts when I ran across the statement below in the Body section. I guess this answers the question. There's still some silicone lube on the bottom of the cab as well as the frame, if not the bushings themselves, so it has to come off. So, the cab's gotta come back off, and while it is I'm going to powder coat a few things. But, the end of this chapter is in sight!
  2. Got it. While the SD kit is more money, is there any reason other than that to shy away from it? I think I located and SD to get the springs from.
  3. Shaun - I'm not likely to take their recommendations with any amount of salt. They don't know and don't know they don't know, and that's hard to fix. Anyway, I'm starting to come to the conclusion that I may have to piece this together. And, while that's not the way I'd like to go, it does open up some possibilities. For instance, if it doesn't come with springs or the track bar, then I think that I could use SuperDuty springs. And, Sky has the PanHard/track bar for $100 for poly bushings and $120 for Heim joints. Am I right about this? And, I got the email. As said, I'll follow up. Thanks!
  4. Thanks, grumpin. We will let this "cook" for a bit and see what comments others have, and then I'll copy it to the Forum FAQ's page.
  5. Bob - In reverse order, John gave me a pic of those hubs, so I now understand. Obviously not what I am looking for, but he says the hubs are not expensive. And, it is geared 4.10. As for the RSK/TTB combo, that's a really good explanation and it makes sense to me. And, it explains why I don't want it. And, speaking of the clearance between the spring and the bump stop, I just stuck my pointer finger in on the driver's side and couldn't get it all the way in. I'd guess that there is 7/8". And, the bump stop is FLAT on the bottom with crazing that looks like it has been pounded.
  6. You might want to read this post, or the thread: http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Forum-Structure-amp-Etiquette-td27917.html. In it I tried to explain the rationale for what the different folders were created for. But, you can use them however you'd like. Having said that, the Project folder is the only one where you can lock the thread so others cannot post. As said in that post, I am using that feature to plan out changes for Big Blue. But, if you are not going to lock the thread I'd just post in the main section as more people will probably see it. Anyway, I can see the need for the truck at your elevation. Must make for cold winters!

    Trailer Wiring

I think you have a ground problem. With the headlights off they provide a ground to the brake lights. But with them on they no long provide a ground. I can't tell you where the bad ground is, but I'd bet that you have a ground problem, and probably at the tail lights. On the early trucks, like yours, there was a ground wired from the light socket to ground on the bed inside the tail light opening. But if your bed isn't grounded well then that could be a problem.
  8. Got a lead from a friend on the Bulls N' Bricks: 80-91 Ford Trucks And Broncos FB page. Actually, it is John Barnett, the owner of the page. He said "this axle is also out of a 1991 cab and chassis dually.. it has the dually style front hubs." So, what is different about the C&C's front hubs?
  9. I'm not looking for volunteers to move things around. And I'm not worried about where people put things. I'm simply trying to answer questions I've been asked about where to put things. So I wrote up my logic for what my intent was for each folder. But, that doesn't mean everyone needs to do it the way I envisioned. So, for instance, your thread on Little Blue 82 could have gone in Projects or the main part of the forum. And the only difference is that the author of a thread/topic has the ability to lock the thread in the Projects folder and not in the main section. I don't care whether you lock it or not, but if you are wanting to just document things w/o others chiming in, that's the only place you can do it.
  10. You make a valid point. I'm still looking for the D60..... Called my brother and asked him to ask his sons to look. Both are exceptionally good at finding things, and he figured one of them would have the truck located by nightfall. And then posted this on four Ford truck Facebook pages:
  11. Right. It is disconcerting for someone who is in a business where they should know better to be wrong. But worse yet to tell me that I don't know what I have when he hasn't seen it. I guess I'm still hung up on them saying the application for the 85-91 Ford F-350 4x4 2" Front Shackle Reversal (OBS Spring) kit is: I think there are two issues with that. First, it doesn't really matter that the "truck" is an F350. The kit will bolt on an F250 frame. The key is that you are using those springs and an 85-97 D60. But the other issue is the "F-250 4x4 with TTB" bit. Are they saying it'll work w/my TTB's and the F350 or SuperDuty springs? Or, is their website wrong and it will only work with the D50? I'm asking as I'm not to hung up on getting a D60. So if their kit paired with either F350 or SuperDuty springs would give me a bit of lift and the improved ride maybe I'd be happy.
  12. No prob, Jim. As an update, the guy from the salvage called and they can't find the D60 w/a 3.54 gear in it. Plus, the truck that was said to have the 4.10 D60 probably has only the cross member and little else. They are going to keep looking for the D60, but it looks like it is time to expand the search quite a bit. I'll hit social media as well as ask my nephews to look. And yesterday I sent this to Sky Off Road Design in an effort to get my head around their kit: And today I got back: To which I responded: And the pics I attached were these, showing that Big Blue has the internal clips on the front u-joints, which says proves it is a D44. (Disregard the "light duty" F250 designation he mentions as that isn't quite correct.)
  13. Ray - I'm not suggesting changing anything. Instead, I'm trying to explain what the various folders are intended for.
  14. I was recently asked what the proper/best way to use the forum. In other words, where should various things be posted. And later I was asked about the use of the Projects folder vs the main section of the forum. So that got me to thinking, and a dim vision of how I envision the various parts of the forum is emerging from the fog. Here are some of my thoughts on the 10 folders we have pinned to the top of the main page, but I'd like to see yours on them as well. And after we get this sorted out maybe this becomes a new part of the FAQ's. New Members Start Here - Read The Guidelines & Post A Blurb About Yourself: This is where our guidelines are posted, and it is hoped every new member will read the guidelines and start a thread/topic to introduce themselves and their truck(s). And while there is nothing that says "don't troubleshoot here", that really wasn't the purpose of the folder.Resources: This is supposed to be a list of resources we've found or have, such as links to other sites with info or vendors, lists of books available, or those who have special skills that are willing to help others. It is locked such that only admin's can create a new topic, edit a topic, or respond to oneProjects: This folder is intended for any of us to have a place where we can document what we are doing or going to do w/o responses cluttering up things. In other words, anyone can create a topic and lock it such that no one can respond. But, it doesn't have to be that as you do not have to lock it and then others can respond.I use this to think about what I'm going to do on things like the Upgrades To Big Blue. There you can see my plans for the truck, but you can't respond. That gives me a "whiteboard" where I keep track of things, and I can go back and edit it at any time.Garage/Shop & Tools: An open folder where people can post about things relating to their garage, shop, or tools.eBay & Craigslist Finds: An open folder where people can post what they've found for sale and in which others might have an interest. For Sale, Trade, or Free To A Good Home: The place to post things you have and are willing to sell, trade, or give away.Picture Gallery: As the intro says, I'm not 100% sold on having that folder, but we are using it to hold pics of our trucks, so why not keep it. However, what are your thoughts?2018 Garagemahal Ford Truck Show Planning: This needs to change to either "Show Planning" and have a folder under it for each year, or make it the current year, such as "2019 Show..." I'll work on that soon.Quarantined Threads & Posts: This is where posts that don't meet our guidelines go - after the author has been given a chance to correct it and hasn't. Or, spam. Fortunately we've not had any of the former, and only one of the latter. And only admins can see into it.Want To Buy: Open to all members to post what they are looking for. So, what are your thoughts? Does this explain how to use the various folders? Are changes needed to these writeups?
  15. I wish I'd kept all the stuff I gave away off of Huck. Anyway, I'll keep my eyes open for you.
  16. Yes, wow! Nice offer. As for the springs, he just used stock 4wd springs? What did that do to the ride?
  17. I think LMC might have 7526. But go to the part number tab and you can get Ford's part number and search for it on line. However, 358980 does not have a part number other than 35890. But, it is just a spring washer, as shown in the parts list.
  18. Good progress, Ray. And, as Jim says, progress is good! But I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about with the "washer looking thing". However, the illustrations are here, and they should help: Driveline/Clutches & Linkage.
  19. I don't really have any experience here. And, like Bill, I'm jumping from a carb to an EEC-V system with MAF & SEFI. But, I've done a fair amount of reading and most of that says that an EEC-IV Speed Density system with bank fire does almost as well as a MAF/SEFI system if everything is close to stock. It is only when you change something(s) enough that the air flow through the engine isn't what the computer expects that you run into problems. And that can include a radical cam, headers, or a significant upgrade in the heads. So, if you are staying fairly stock then I doubt there would be enough benefit to a MAF/SEFI system to warrant the change. But if you are doing a significant upgrade then maybe it would help.
  20. Shaun - You said "with the stock hangars you already have". Do you mean I can use that kit on Big Blue's D44HD TTB's? Or, are you thinking when I get an F350's D60 and springs? The Application tab says: That confuses me 'cause it says that the kit works on an F350. But then it seems to say it'll work on an F250 with TTB's.
  21. Cool! That is amazing. We need some pics.
  22. So 350 + RSK would be a good combo. But there's a low profile RSK kit? Do I remember that correctly? I don't need 4" of lift as that will put the front level with or slightly higher than the rear. Unless I put 350 blocks on the rear?
  23. So, is the order of "plushness" this, from worst to best, and including the range of lift? Given that, is the F350 axle/spring combo a significant improvement? Or is it really best to do the RSK? If so, what about an RSK for the F250 springs?
  24. Yes, and Skiatook fits right in. By the way, Arkalalah is Ark City's Fall/harvest festival.
