  1. I'm sure there's a market, Ron. T-Bone Tom asked a day or so ago about them on Facebook. And someone else did recently as well. My understanding is they are unobtainable.
  2. Yes, we IT'ers are everware. An M5 on the Autobahn would be fun. Was it the black one always lurking in the left lane one hill back? The one that was always on me flashing its lights if I ever got in the left lane? Marketing? Not me. I don't have a creative bone in my body. I'm strictly a manager. Numbers. Budgets. Personnel. Ran a rather large infrastructure organization with data centers, help desks, networks, PC's, etc. Having said that, I was one of three people that gave sales presentations to a well known retailer and we won the bid for outsourcing their IT. One of the other companies in the competition was represented by Carly Fiorina.
  3. Hard to tell for sure, but I think that's an '87 or later bed. Easy to tell if you get a clear shot at a wheel well opening as the '87 and later have round openings while Bullnose openings are flat on top.
  4. Your sig doesn't say, but the truck is a 2wd - right? What are your uses for the truck? I ask because a crown vic front end won't carry much load. So if you use it as an F250 then I wouldn't think that would work.
  5. Jochen - I see no problem using the forum for this. But you might want to start your own thread so any responses can be easily seen and you can find them later. And, I have another suggestion. We have a member's map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and there are members on the map that live in the area you mentioned. One of the features of the map is an "Email" option. Just click on the green pin for the member and then click on the Email link on the left.
  6. Not a bad price at all. If you wanted a flatbed or somesuch it would be a good base from which to start.
  7. Matt - The things you point out are part of a very elaborate emissions system. And since you do not have EGR (the intake manifold doesn't have EGR capability) your emissions system isn't going to work, for the most part. So I think you are going to have to remove it. So the question is how to recommend you approach doing that. One way would be for us to try to identify everything that should come off. But I think the better way is for you to hook it up as shown on the page in the link above and then start it up to prove it works. Then you can start removing things that aren't connected. Having said that, to start the engine you don't really need any vacuum devices hooked up. But you do need all open ports plugged. So you could plug all the ports and start the engine. Then, once you prove the engine is working properly you can start adding things like the vacuum advance, power brakes, PCV, etc. The vacuum equipment on the right fender (almost said "passenger's fender", but I don't know if your truck is RHD or LHD), behind the battery, is probably for the charcoal cannister.
  8. Matt - Glad you posted. Good job. All - Matt's from the UK, Stanstead area. And he told me in the background that the Bronco is old enough that it doesn't have to meet emissions standards. Matt - We have a page here that talks about what minimal vacuum connections you need: Documentation/Underhood/Vacuum Systems. Have a read of that and then let's chat about it on here. And I'll work on another post as well.
  9. Although the catalog calls that a "SWITCH ASSY. (SEAT BELT WARNING INDICATOR)", we usually call it a buzzer. But, as you can see below, it does have a switch in it. In the '85 EVTM it is called an Ignition Key/Seat Belt/Headlamps "On" Warning Buzzer. Ford wasn't too consistent about what they called things.
  10. That's a 1984-only cable. I don't know what is different with the early and later ones, but they all have different part numbers.
  11. I don't have any tricks. Haven't tried to buy a whole vehicle from a salvage. But the title on those should show something about "For Salvage".
  12. Yeah, the Brit's and Germans like their vehicles. And we have some of them on here. In fact, I've been chatting with one, Matt Wood, that will be posting in a few minutes. As for your kids, I think it is good advice to get practical skills. But a college degree coupled with practical skills is even better. You know what you are talking about usually then.
  13. I don't know how to do that. And it is a HUGE shame. But at the same time the small salvages are going out of business. One near me is closing their doors (gate?) as of the end of the year. And when I asked what they are doing with the vehicles she said "Crushing them."
  14. Ok, I guess that's where I'm running into an issue Gary, the nipple on my reservoir is only 0.200". I cut my tubing back a half an inch to remove the flare and it appears to be 0.250-0.260" ID. I have a new washer fluid spray nozzle from LMC and it looks like it's made for 0.25" tubing. The funny part is, the nipple on the INCORRECT reservoir I removed is 0.300"! Bugger! So what in the heck do I have for a reservoir now? This one was removed from the 1985 Bullnose that I junked. At least I think that's where it came from. I have another one here that I'm pretty sure I removed from a 1983. Let's make sure we are talking about the same thing. The pic below is from Big Blue's windshield washer pump outlet. But can you use smaller tubing and make it stretch over the spray nozzle's input?
  15. My hose measures .285" ID, and the fitting on the reservoir measures .300". Siri tells me that 9/32" is .2812". But she says that 7MM is .280". I'd think any vacuum hose would work. I think.
  16. Its a shame things seem to be going downhill there. We still want to go back. Seeing Mulhouse & Basel on the map reminded me of our first visit to the Continent. We were living in England and starting our holiday by flying into Basel. Or so we thought. Didn't realize where the airport actually is until we drove down the corridor into Switzerland. Interesting! And, speaking of Bullnose trucks in Europe, I did use to see some older Ford trucks in the UK. We lived close to an American air base, and they were brought in by the servicemen. Boy did you want to move over on those twisty B roads when you met them. And in the car parks they took up way more than one space. So, your daughter now welds? Or is just a welder's helper?
  17. You are now on the map. As for France, the area sounds like maybe Colmar or Strasbourg. Not been to either but do want to get to Colmar given the pics we've seen. Have been to Freiburg and Basel. To say there are a lot of believers of Islam in France is true and not a problem here. But to say Islam, or any religion for that matter, is bad would be a problem. Just like saying that being a Republican or a Democrat is bad would be a problem. We aren't here to discuss religion nor politics. Concerning the bed, that's a shame, but I hope the girl is ok. Beds can be replaced.
  18. Yes! I THINK YOU ARE COMPLETELY BONKERS! Rick! You've put so much work into your father's truck that I cannot even comprehend you THINKING of selling it, much less doing so. Ask Shaun about his experience selling his truck. Seriously, while I understand the need for the money and the lack of "need" for the truck, I think you'd be making a serious mistake to sell it.
  19. Welcome! Glad you came over. You'll recognize a bunch of the guys on here. So many questions. Like, where'd "RenoHuskerDu" come from? You mentioned "yurrup", so what part? I'd have guessed Germany but would have expected DE rather than Du. And Nebraska? Plus, what part of Tejas are you in? We have a member's map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and I'd love to put you on if I had a town/city. I'll bet that ZF helped on the highway cruising with the IDI. Assuming stock gearing of 3.55's or 4.11's, cruising on a Texas autobahn had to be noisy. Last, how 'bout a signature to help us remember both you and your truck by?
  20. The switch, switch plate and indicator light came with the Wrangler Power Products dual battery system I had on my '95 F-150 (I told you about their single tray that holds two batteries in the location of the stock single battery). I pulled that off that truck when I sold it. That was the source of the continuous duty relay I put on the motorhome last year as well. I think the switch plate is marked something like "Dual On" for the normal mode (when the relay gets power from the truck battery, but only when the engine is running), "Dual Off" (which should be pretty obvious ) and "Emergency" for the jump start mode (when it gets power from the camper battery). The indicator LED lights up green when it's in the "Dual On" mode and the engine is running, it's off when the switch is off (and when the switch is in "Dual On" and the engine is off) and it's red when the switch is on "Emergency." I have the switch located on the lower left part of the dash, pretty close to the e.brake release, so it's not very easy to see. I really can't read the labels at all from the driver's seat, but if I lean the right way I can see the light. So I'll really go more by the light than by the labels. I think those labels and the light work very well. It took a bit, but I finally found a link to the Wrangler Power Products site instead of people hawking their wares. And here's a link to their catalog. Guess I'll look it over.
