  1. This is an interesting concept, my .02 is that it will be very regional. My son and I have been buying these for about three years and this is what I see the most of. Trucks found in the best condition are- F150 Regular Cab 8' Style Side Bed 2WD 300 Inline 6 C6 3.55:1 Usually in the XL trim Condition worsens as you add in the following options. 4X4 - Rust gets worse the closer you get to salt. 302 - Has the Amazon HEI distributor installed. 302 EFI - Fuel pump mount has been lost from replacing the frame mounted pump 12 times. 351W - Transmissions are junk. 460 - Has had the carb and intake changed likely still not running correctly. 6.9L - Front end is worn completely out. F250 - Body damage and worn out interiors. F350 - Usually Cab Chassis with out a bed, totally worn out. Dump Body - Poor thing was abused its entire life and left out to pasture. XLT - Air Conditioning never works but the heater core is easier to change. XLT Lariat - Seat Upholstery and imitation wood grain are sun baked and washed out.
  2. ISO information on the illusive Black Out Edition. From what I have learned so far and what brought me here to the forum is this. The Black Out Package entails the following changes in the exterior of the 80 to 86 Ford Trucks and Broncos. Rather then bright all of the following items are treated with black paint, anodizing, molded in color. 1. Windshield surround. 2. Windshield wipers. 3. Mirrors. 4. Door Handles and Locks. 5. Grill and bright work around grill. 6. Head light bezels. 7. Area around the side windows. I have never seen one of these in person until the recent purchase of a 1984 Bronco that has all the markings of a Black out Edition. This Bronco is an XLT, Blue interior and dark grey metallic and black tutone. The grill and surrounds are all black, the mirrors are black, the door handles and locks are black. The Bronco was painted at some point and I cannot tell if the windows were blacked out as well. I have only ever seen pictures of the black out on and XLS but not all XLS packages where blacked out. I do have the build sheet of this particular Bronco but cannot make out all the information on it. I greatly appreciate any information you might have on this package and what it came with and on. Thank you!
  3. This is Clifford. 1986 F350 Crew Cab Dually 2WD it was a 351W and C6 truck but is in the middle of a full on Cummins and ZF5 swap. My Son owns this truck but we are working on it together. Thank you for checking it out! Keep on the look out for more updates right here!
  4. Hello all, just joined today but can tell this is where I should of been all along! Thanks you for the warm welcome! This is BOV1 my 1985 Bronco. 300 Inline 6 powered 4 speed setting on a dana 60 and Sterling 10.25. The project was started 10 years ago as a snow plow truck to replace my aging Superduty at the time but quickly grew into a full blown restoration that I cannot seem to finish. I had three good runs at it in the last 10 years and need at least 1 more before I can say its done. I am into about 4 other projects at the moment but this is where my heart lies! Check back often to see how we are progressing! Thanks again! The full project up until yesterday is in the playlist below!
  5. Thank you sir! My son Kenny and I post frequently on the FB groups as well so it could of been one of us! Pat was sold about 2 years ago to a young man for his first truck. He hasn't changed a thing about it and is still running it. Thanks for the subscription, every little bit counts! What is your chanel?
  6. Once I decode the VIN and get the build sheets out of the Bronco I will post up a thread on this obscure option. From what I have seen this is a special one.... Thanks again for the warm reception!
  7. From what I can see the XLS got the Black Out option but the Buddha Bronco I just bought is an XLT without the XLS dash trim and special applique on the dash bezels. I always planned to do the Black Out option on my Bronco but never actually ran across one till now. LOL, the details of the obscure option fascinate me for some reason...
  8. When I installed the D60 into the Bronco BOV1 I actually did it as the factory intended installing the spring perches onto the tips of the Bronco frame. It was a long time ago. LOL.
  9. Thank you Jim! It was the literature that got me here in the first place! LOL. I am looking to find out as much information about the Black Out Option that was available on the Bullnoses since mu recent purchase is all blacked out. I am still researching the topic and will be combing through the forum to find out if anyone has already brought it up!
  10. Thank you for the warm welcome! Home is The Mongo's Garage complex in Avella, PA about 45 minutes southwest of Pittsburgh! I usually don't post how too videos because of internet trolls but there are a couple informative videos on there. I recently did a how to adjust your Bullnose clock and we opened up an AC heater box to fix a broken blend door. My son Kenny likes to buy the 2WD truck and convert them to 4WD. I showed him how easy it can be done and now he is always looking for more!
  11. Hello all! I am new to your forum and am surprised that I had not found it until today! I am no stranger to forums and have been an active member of many over the years but happened across yours today when I was looking for an obscure bit of Bullnose trivia doing some research on a recent parts Bronco purchase that my son and I made. I have owned at least 12 Bulls over the years and currently have an 85' bronco about 80% complete that I have been working on for about 10 years. My 20 YO son has already had at least 7 Bulls and daily drives an 86 F150 currently with an 86' F350 in the shop getting a Cummins 5.9L installed. Together we run a YouTube channel called Mongo's Garage which overtime has become pretty much an all Ford truck channel with the emphasis on Bullnose trucks. There is plenty of great Bullnose content there and I hope to be able to continue the channel well into the future with aspirations to monetize and live off of it at some point. If you would like to check it out th elink is bellow. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWj-z82UywBxBGbIgf4ELmw This is Pat, an 80' F150 that received a complete mechanical restoration but the body was left in the original Patina that this truck earned over the years. There is a great video series on the chanell about the rebuild process of this truck. Thank you for accepting my membership and I hope to become a part of your Bullnose community here on the internet!
