  1. Bradley, Thank you for the information. I did not have the heads ported. My main goal at the moment is getting everything back together and operational. I know it doesn't make as much sense to do it later, but after everything is working again I may go back and make some improvements. I thought about getting different heads and headers but in the end I'm trying to keep to a budget (which is slowly growing) and focusing on the basics for now. It certainly sounds like Scotty is the go to guy for 460's so I will definitely look him up if/when it comes to that. Thank you again.
  2. Hey Jim! The machine shop that rebuilt my engine had those valve covers available. He only charged me like $50 for them so I bought them as an opportunity to dress it up a little. They are a little large, not because of anything he did to the heads but that's just what he had. As far as rockers, I honestly don't know. I had him take a few pictures during the rebuild so maybe you can tell me. I can call and ask him about compression but I didn't think to ask. The idea was to keep it mostly stock although we did put an Edelbrock Performer 460 intake manifold and intend to put a Holley Sniper system on it. They did bore it 0.060" over due to some rust in the cylinders. I left the exhaust manifolds stock because I don't intend to put it in the RPM range that headers add a lot of value (at least to my understanding). It's just gonna be a daily driver for the most part. If you think any of this was a big mistake please let me know. I am open to suggestions since I haven't ever done this before.
  3. Inching closer towards the goal line. My 460 is now a 472 roller motor. Very pleased with the upholstery job on the captains seats. Waiting on paint & body then it's time to start putting it all back together.
  4. Would you be able to send a picture of the speed control hornpad? Thank you. Jeremy D.
  5. Danny, I may have one available for you from a 1984 F-250 460. Where are you located? I'm just north of San Antonio. Next time I get to the barn I will try to remember to take some pictures.
  6. Good morning. I saw where you have some interior pieces for an extended cab truck you were looking to get rid of. Any chance you have the seat belt uprights for captains chairs? I'm not sure if yours are the same as my 1984 extended cab but I figured I would ask. Thank you very much for your help. Jeremy D.
  7. Good morning everyone. I’m looking for a pair of seat belt uprights/stands for a 1984 F250 Supercab with captains chairs. My interior is blue but I could use any color since I’m repainting the interior panels to freshen it up a bit. Thank you for the help.
  8. Thank you Gary. I'm still getting used to the documentation tab. Hopefully you don't get too tired of starting most of your replies with... If you look at the page on Documentation... Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
  9. Good afternoon everyone. I pulled out most of the interior of my 1984 F250 Supercab and found an interesting part behind the back of the rear seat. It's this black part that is attached to the wall. I assume it is a stopper for the back part of the seat but I can't find any information on it. Also, there is only 1 back there but I see where there are similar places to put one in the middle and passenger side. Does anyone know what these are or how I can locate the two more, if in fact there are supposed to be 2 more? I should also note that a 'lift kit' was installed on the rear seat a few decades ago so it sits up higher than it came from the factory. Thank you very much for the help.
  10. Ouch. I'm not sure it's supposed to look like that. I didn't know they sold pinion jigsaw puzzles. Hopefully that's an old picture and your truck is all back together again.
  11. It's been a while since I have updated this project so here goes. In the past month or so I took my truck to a mechanic friend for some help. The main goal was to get the axles & brakes rebuilt. I think it definitely needed it. The drivers rear drum brake was pretty nasty. The differential looked good so we didn't mess with that, but did replace all of the bearings and seals in the rear axle Then it was on to the front axle where we tore it almost completely apart. We also changed out the brake booster and master cylinder as well as replaced the front disc brakes so my brakes should be good to go...or stop I should say. I have started to clean up the rear of the frame and get the new gas tanks reinstalled. The back one is in and I need to get the front one put in when time permits. I pulled out the front seats and am getting quotes to get them reupholstered. My Lord this step is more expensive than I expected. The two quotes I have are between $1,500 and $2,000. Does that seem reasonable? I ordered interior paint (SEM 3042-Dark Harbor Blue) as well as SEM plastic prep and some Prevel sprayers from Vinyl Pro based on some previous threads I read about them on this forum. Robin was out but Scott was very patient and helpful. I will get some Bulldog Adhesion Promoter locally or from Amazon to round out that part of the project. I picked up my freshly rebuild driveshafts, T-Case & Transmission so those will sit patiently until my engine gets back from the machine shop. Once I decide how much money I am willing to part with to get paint & body done I will get that going while I wait for the engine. I made the decision to spend a little extra and go with the Holley Sniper 2 system. I am only recently becoming familiar with this setup but nearly everyone I talk to about rebuilding this truck has asked me if I am going to go that route. It's going to add some cost that I wasn't planning on but I think it's the right thing to do. That is the current status of the project. Still hoping to have this done sometime in September. I'm definitely ready to turn the key for the first time. Stay tuned.
  12. You can put me down as a contributor when the time comes as well. Thank you.
  13. Gary, You da man! I’ll be sure and put some paint on them so they don’t rust. They look amazing though. I’ll be sure and use the right tool for the job this time instead of just getting a bigger hammer. 🙂
  14. Gary, In the first picture I sent, it would be on the bottom of the top, right corner. The only corner that has a post coming off of the main plate. Hopefully that makes sense.
  15. Gary, You identified the very reason I broke the bracket and need a new pulley. I decided force was better than the right tool for the job…and it didn’t work out too well. Upon further scrubbing I did find a number on that bracket. I can’t make it out for sure but I believe it’s d6ac8a732aa. I’ll try to search some using that number to see what I find. Thanks again. Jeremy D.
