  1. Thanks Gary. For some reason I thought the compressor mounted a bit different on the 87+ serpentine setups but hopefully not. I’ll hit you up when I am ready to mount up my airbox. On another question which Borgeson shaft did you go with, the standard on or the one with the dampener?
  2. Hey gang, looking for some advice here. I’m assembling parts to put my 86 302 project together and am wondering if the intake tube and airbox from say a 95 302 MAF will fit on my 86 without changing it over to serpentine setup. Is there enough room for the intake tube to clear the compressor? Thanks!
  3. Just did under the cab and bed on my project. It really sprays on well, just takes time to prep it properly.
  4. For the Borgeson shaft I see there are 2 types, one with a damper and one without. Any thoughts or experience on each? 80-'91 Full Size Ford Truck Part # 000985 1980-1991 Ford truck heavy duty telescopic steel steering shaft. Connects from factory column to steering box. 5. Hey there, thanks for the responses. The pistons, cams and lifters are still in the engine. I plan to pull everything this week (and mark the order of everything as it’s removed). Right now I can’t get the lifters out of the top so they will have to go out the bottom once I remove the pistons, crank, and cam. Either they are gummed up pretty bad or mushroomed a bit. 2 of the cam lobes look pretty poor from what I can see with a fair amount of pitting. I also worry about the new parts being crap and wouldn’t replace the cam and lifters if I didn’t have to. I was thinking of trying out a set of OEM spec Melling lifters and cam as that’s all I can find that appears to be close to OEM for timing and made for flat tappet lifters. The Melling kit PN is CLSYB26.
  6. Hi there, I am freshening up the 302 from my 86 F150. New bearings, seals, rings, etc. 2 of the cam lobes look pretty pitted up so I want to replace the cam and lifters. I’m having a hard time finding an OEM equivalent or at least one that I can be confident will work with the speed density EFI for 86. The engine is stock. Thanks for any input.
  7. Picked up an 86 longbox 4X4 this summer. Almost ready for blasting and powder coating. Rust is so much fun!
  8. Found a diamond plate version, not true vintage though like the DeeZee ones… https://www.ebay.com/itm/314126817486?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=EJpcBkJJTGe&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=NPn2Z3uGQdW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  9. That is exactly what I am looking for! What yard location is that? Thanks, KG.
  10. Haha, that’s from the previous owner troubleshooting it. Turns out the ECU is fine but the fuel pump not so much…
  11. Hey Gary - sorry about that! I read the guidelines and posted in the new members section. Thanks for an awesome site! KG.

  13. Howdy fellow Bullnosers! I am in the process of getting life back into a 1986 F-150 XLT Lariat 5.0EFI. I look forward to gaining and sharing knowledge of these cool trucks with everyone here. Thanks for having me! KG.
  14. Looking for fuel lines - rear tank to dual function reservoir. 85/86 5.0 EFI with dual tanks, there is a supply and a return line and the lines are nylon. Thanks, KG.
