  1. Hi guys has anyone ever tried to use pink coolant in our trucks I’m about ready to do a coolant flush and my heater core went out so I’m gonna drain all the coolant out. I was wondering if Toyota pink coolant would work since I could get it pretty easily.
  2. Hey guys just an update I’m needed going with a Yukon gear set for the ring and pinion. Another question when I do the gear change what would be needed so the speedo read somewhat correctly.
  3. Hey fellas so after 6 years of planning and mainly collecting parts for Big Red it’s finally time to change the gears on the old girl. Originally it has 3.08 gear ratio open I was gonna go with a 3.55 but I’m leaning more towards a 3.73 ratio with a limited slip carrier from ford racing. Now you guys that have more experience what is the better brand I have read on other forums that Richmond has noisy gears. Yukon could be repackaged items. Motive I haven’t read to much on but I’ve never really for of them. Which one would you buy and why?
  4. I’ve had both headers and now I have the EFI manifolds and honestly I couldn’t tell the difference in performance but sound yes the header definitely sounded better that’s the only reason I would go back to the longtube header.
  5. Little beefy thanks for the reply!!! That centerforce clutch kit is the one I was looking at. Also McLeod clutch caught my eye too Looking for a little bit more clamping pressure something that won’t chatter.
  6. Hey guys so with the warmer weather around the corner Big Red clutch was starting to slip, chatter, and the throw out bearing was chirping away before it got parked for the winter. It’s gonna be time for a new one this year. I’ve been doing a bit of inter-web window shopping and noticed that there is a 10 and 11 inch clutch kits how would I know which one to buy or do both sizes fit? Also what do you guys suggest a new flywheel or resurface the original one it’s been resurfaced once from what I know.
  7. Are there shops out there still turning drums and rotors? I can't even imagine asking a shop around here...none of them would even know what I was talking about lol. Heh yeah its a local parts store not a chain parts store. The only one in town that I know of that cuts rotors and drums they do flywheels too
  8. Thank you guys for all your help. I told dad tomorrow I would take a look see if I could figure this out. Again guys I'm grateful and I appreciate you guys!!!
  9. No I didnt. I've always just done it the way dad showed me press the brake 3 times crack the bleeder and do it until the brake pedal is firm but the pedal is only firm when the truck is off as soon as it running it feels spongy.
  10. So my Dad has a 86 f250 4x4. My dad and I are just stumped we cant figure this out. The truck has a new brake booster replaced like 3 years ago, new front calipers and new brake pads and rotors, just replaced the master cylinder, the drums shoes are fairly new because we dont drive the truck often drums were turned also the rotors were turned. For the life of me it has the slowest reacting brakes it like you Emergency stop and it acts so slow I'm not saying I want it to brake like a new car but it has to better then what its doing. We bled the rear and we bled the fronts when we replace the rotors I'm not sure what else could it be or what I'm doing wrong.
  11. Maybe I could be of some help I have a Magnaflow muffler on Big Red and it's a 300 six with a couple goodies And here is my old setup that I had when it had a Hedman Header, flowmaster and cutouts
  12. Update! Good morning everyone. So today I was getting Big Red ready for the local car show and it's our 1st one we attend this year. So I'm cleaning the wheel and what not and I start shining the tires and I said "ahh lemme park it in the drive way" because I cleaned the wheels in the yard because my hose doesnt reach anywho so I go to turn on my truck and boom key on and the ignition buzzer just starts working. At first I was why is the buzzer still going and the door is close and then it hit me I was so happy! I'm not sure about you guys but I think the old girl has feelings I did all the procedures you guy told me to and I couldnt figure it out and out of the blue today it starts working! Hope you guys have a Great Fathers day weekend!
  13. Happy Easter everyone!! Enjoy the day with your families
  14. I wish he would buffed the whole truck but regardless it turned out great.
