I've owned my 1984 F-250 4x4 for 5 years now and it's been a work horse for me with all the pitfalls of an older gal.  Because I live in the mountains of the Aeneas Valley, WA she's taken a lot of abuse doing what she was designed for and now I'd like to put some love back into her.  Betty is her name, original owner named her not me but it works.  Lost the muffler one day and the sound of a B-17 comes to mind.  As most of you know finding parts is a bit of a problem so I'm hoping all you folks that have been involved in resto with these wonderful trucks can lend a hand in my process.  I'm starting with the drive line and working my way thru the body as time permits.  Winters are a bit harsh up here.  She has a 460 crate 4 speed tranny and I'm in the middle of pulling the transfer case out to find out which model I have it's either a NP208 or a Borg Warner 1345 according to the manual but then again will no more soon.  Anybody have any good suggestions on after market or OEM items for this old gal?  I did find a company down in TX that's been a great help for small parts but these bigger items are not in their wheelhouse.  BTW this wrenching thing at my age is getting harder but it's a bit of a passion with me so all helpful will be greatly welcomed. Looking forward to exploring this site for more info, be well my friends

Welcome!  Glad you joined.

Show us some pics of Betty?

My "crate 460" came from up your way - Scotty at Parkland built it.  And, speaking of up your way, would you like to be on our map?  You can see it at Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu.

As for suggestions, how much do you plan to drive your truck?  A ZF5 tranny with the overdrive helps on the MPG.

Welcome

What parts are you looking for as there are different places to look depending what it is you are after.
Then again some parts all you can get are good used / better than yours, parts.

And talking of places who is it you found in Tx for parts as I cant think of anyone off the top of my head?
Then again where is JBGY?

cpaddict.com is the company out of TX, they handle some parts but the need for me is an adapter for the transfer case to the transmission, which they don't have but I did get a firewall stiffener from them when my clutch master cylinder blew thru the firewall from the rust, I understand that there was a recall back in the day for that but good luck getting ford to send me a recall part.

Thanks for the post I checked them out and looks to be for the larger 250 / 350 truck suspension mostly and that is good as it may help others.

On your adapter what trans to what transfer are you looking for?
If it is not a normal Ford part then think I would look at Advance Adapter or Novak as they are the 2 that come to mind.

If there are other parts ask and we can point you to who may have them if there are such parts.
