New Member Introduction

Red
This post was updated on .
Hello! I'm not really a brand new member, I joined in 2018, but I have not posted an introduction before now.
I am Red Hill and I was a mechanic for quite awhile. I've worked on Wright radial aircraft engines, and Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit, Perkins, Ford, Deutz, John Deere, and Kubota diesel engines, and Ford, Chrysler, Mazda and GM gasoline engines. I've also worked on Holley, Autolite, Motorcraft, Rochester, and Carter carburetors. I'm retired so I just work around my own place now. I own several Fords so I stay busy.

Thanks, after I wrote it, I thought, "My gosh, I'm getting old."

I made a typo on the Wright aircraft engine; it was a 3350, not a 3550.
These engines were used on the B-29 bombers by Strategic Air Command (SAC) up until the late '60s when they started to phase-out the B-29s and they were switching over to the B-52s exclusively.
In case you're wondering about that Wright engine, yes, the Wright Aeronautical Div. (of Curtis-Wright) was started by the Wright Bros.
