Dual piston brakes on D44 HP

Littlebeefy
I have an idea and I'm going to try to make it work. I'll report back on what I find. I'm curious, though, if anyone else has tried this or knows anything about it. I have a 79 Dana 44 HP on my Bronco with the Tbird calipers. I am going to try to swap in the 79 D44 HD/D60 twin piston calipers, but retain my 5 lug system including my knuckles.

I bought a set of the original D44 HD caliper brackets with the 5 hole knuckle mount. The thickness on the mounting portion is about 3/32" thicker on the twin piston bracket than on the original bracket. I'm going to bolt up the bracket without modification and get a couple of rotors made based on the mocked up dimensions. I can use the radius and nominal thickness for the D60 rotor as the spec for the custom rotors, but I will need to figure out the overall height. I was going to mock it up with the smaller single piston rotor and use that as the basis for measurement.

Anyone out there have any experience on this? Any tips or tricks?

Thanks and happy Friday the 13th!
