Carb Attachments

What is the green part called in photo? How does it detach from carburetor. The wire goes into firewall behind driver side dash. Wanting to remove carburetor to clean and rebuild.  This is a motorcraft model 2150-2V carburetor.

That is called a throttle cable with a built-in return spring.

It may sound scary, but you have to grab it firmly and pull it away from the carburetor until it pops off the throttle linkage.

The throttle linkage has a ball stud that the throttle cable snaps on to.
