AN adapters for radiator/heater hoses

Danny G
Been looking for a nice upgrade to replace my hoses. Preferably easy to disconnect etc. I came across some cool but expensive options made by specter that is a braided line with basically a compression fitting on the ends. Pretty cool.

Then I found this company they make a -20 AN fittings that hooks up to your 1.75"(and more) radiator outlets and allows use of braided AN hose.

Then I found this company that makes a 5/8 barb to 10AN adapter set.

Pricey... yes. Cool... yes. I have a feeling that there are cheaper versions of this out there just need to find them.

No hose clamps just wrenches. Very nice.

Why a barb to AN adapter?
Just change the water pump and manifold fittings.

How are the swivel ends attached?
Do you keep turning the radiator around until it's tight?
How do you deal with a heater core on the other side of the firewall?

So basically what I get from this is the fitting seals on the heater core tubes over the hump. Then it's a straight fit after that allowing you to screw on a AN fitting. Same with the Specter system. It looksike the part that fits the 5/8 outlets basically is a rubber grommet that is compressed in place when tightening there by clamping down on the outlet.

So you make up an AN line (brings me back to the '70's) then thread it onto an adapter, and then clamp that adapter over the heater core flare???
