1981 Medium Blue vs Medium Glow Blue

I'm wondering if anybody has any modern paint formulation codes for either '81 Medium Blue or the "glamour" offering back then, "Medium Glow Blue".  These were Ford paint codes 7 and 17.  

I am also looking for reference photos that show the difference between these hues.  It seems I can't locate any known Medium Glow Blue Ford truck photos.  I don't know if it's the same as the '82 Mustang version, which I did find a photo of.

My 82 flareside is Medium Blue. So is Rembrants.

found this guy and these paint codes for 81. I have always loved the '86 midnight metallic blue.. I think its actually midnight regatta blue not sure.

Yes sir, 3P Medium Blue Metallic, specific to the 1982-1984 model years. The only picture I've ever found that appears to be the original 3P color is the truck below...and I have zero info on it. And by "original", I only mean before it was 35 years old and faded...lol.

However, there is also a Medium Blue Metallic for 1981, which is a different color (3H?)...



I don't see the #7 or #17 color codes on the list. Most of them have a number and a letter together.

I now believe the Ford Code for Medium Glow Blue in '81 (called Medium Blue and various other names on various models/years) is M5613 (paint code 3H).  Medium Blue in '81 is Ford code M5041 (paint code 34).  This is also referred to as Med Wedgewood Blue??

What makes paint code 3H different from 34?  Metallic?  Pearlizers?  ???

Again, I'm looking for model year 1981 specific.  Therefore, Med Blue may not be the same in '82 or other years.

Agreed, that blue stepside is all kinds of classic!
Theres a couple blue + white OBS fords like that first pic. Theyre real head turners.

1982. Was repainted by original owner. Im 2nd owner. Was told the color was per the books.

Note that paint code 34 refers to one shade of blue in 80/81 and a different shade in 85/87 years. So you need to check the year in addition to the code.

The 1981 Ford dealer facts organizer lists 3B (midnight blue metallic) and 34 (medium blue) as standard colors, and 3H (medium blue glow) as optional. Look at F-series tab, color and trim:
