tie rod boots

Rickman Metisse
While serving my '85 F250 4WD after getting it running and back on the road again, I found three out of four tie-rod boots cracked/torn/damaged.  Does anyone have a suggestion on what will work as replacement boots?

Thanks, Vern

A quick Goggle search came up with this
https://www.google.com/search?q=tie+rod+boots+replacement&rlz=1C1KMZB_enUS571US571&oq=Tie+rod+boots&aqs=chrome.1.0i512l3j0i10i22i30j0i15i22i30l3j0i22i30l3.15964j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

I have not used any of the ones linked as all mine are good.

Have you checked your local Ford dealer? Base number 3332 - if they aren't available, I'm pretty sure boots from a Super Duty will fit.

Thanks for the info on the 3332 part number.  This will help me with search for the dust seals in the Ford USB parts catalog I have which consists of about 5000 pages and I found having a number really helps with searching all those pages.  Unfortunately all of the online Ford parts dealers show these boots as NLA.  With aftermarket boots its hard to pin down whether or not they work on my F250 since most are universal and I found the ones offered by the three local discount auto parts stores don't actually show them fitting my older truck.  When I ended up with a part number I could only initially find the boots in packages of 50.  It took a lot more digging to find those same boots in packages of two going by a slightly different part number.  I originally purchased a set of dust boots from a company which specialized in old trucks expecting a set of four but turns out it was only a pair of the dust boots I received.  With my truck sitting in my shop the past several years taking up space with a bad motor, now that it can be driven I am real leary of working on the truck in the shop and having to wait for parts while the truck disassembled and not drivable.  It is my goal to have all the parts on hand before I start taking the truck apart to the point where it can not be driven.

Just because the parts store one dont say they will fit you OLD TRUCK I would pick up 1 or 2 just to try.
It's not like they are $100 ea and it is nothing to drop 1 tie rod to try it.
Ball joints is a different story for trying.

As for not listed for your truck they look at it as your truck is too old to list heck it is 40 years old vary little is listed for 40 year old cars & trucks as it is just not worth it for the amount they would sell if it was listed.
