Dunno.  But let us know if you find out.

Shorties for a Bullnose truck should fit as, from my understanding, "shorties" are supposed to be a direct replacement for exhaust manifolds.  So, if a truck takes the same exhausts as a Mustang then they should fit.  But, there were several decades of Mustangs, so surely there are different exhaust manifolds for them over time.

I'll post my findings when I come to convert my truck to true dual exhaust. It wont be for a while yet though. I have the headers already as they are spares for my mustang.

I've read reports online that guys have indeed installed shorty headers made for a Mustang 5.0, but the comments I read were all in relation to a 5.0 in a Bullnose. I can't speak of the 351 specifically.

They bolt to the SBF heads no problem, but it is my understanding that they run really close to the starter due to the larger bellhousing/164 tooth flywheel on the trucks. (Mustang 5.0 has 157 tooth flywheel).

I'm not sure how that translates to the taller decked 351...

Somebody on here will know more than me on the topic. Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents;).

Thanks for your input
I know the 351 is taller and wider so the outlet flanges on the mustang headers might interfere with the bellhousing, frame or clutch cylinder. I am planning on fabricating the exhaust to suit whatever clearence there is rather than fitting a stock exhaust pipe.

It was my understanding that they did fit on the 5.0 engines in the trucks, but that they were tight is all. I'm trying to envision 351 fitment and whether the taller deck height would make the tight fit issue better or worse...lol. Are these stock headers from a 5.0 Mustang?

I have a set of stock headers and a set of bbk headers too. I'll try both to see which fits best.

The issue I have had with headers, now this is on a 250 4x4, is that unless you have fenderwell exit longtubes, you need to do a very sharp bend off the flange to cut under the trans or you will not clear the front driveshaft, and this is also the case if you use any factory car manifold, especially od 80s Lincolns...they dont cut straight down at a sharp angle like the truck manifolds do, instead they point almost straight back. This along with most shrorty headers lead to clearance problems with the driveshaft. I would imagine the same issue persists with a 150 4x4.

Not yet had chance to try and fit shorty headers. I think they wont fit but wont know for sure until I try. I'll let you know when I can.

If they are 5.0 headers on a 351 I bet the collector will point right to the firewall on a truck.

351 swap Mustang headers will have longer tubes to compensate for the taller deck height, but even that difference probably wouldn't be enough in a truck.

Start by going to Summit and compare the angles of the collector between truck shorties and Mustang shorties.
