Where to buy EGR solenoid connector

ratdude747
Working on pulling my 300, and have had some bad luck with electrical connectors.

The TFI plug is about to fall apart (known issue), and I already planned on replacing it (and possibly modding it to use a fender-mounted TFI) No problem, I can get a replacement.

Also, the coil connector fell apart (another "known but forgotten" issue). Again, something I can buy.

The 1 wire temp sensor (gauge) plug was looking kinda ratty... but also something I can replace.

Finally, I had the EGR solenoid (farthest back solenoid in the pack) wire break right at the plug. I also had to break the plastic to get it come loose. But, at least looking at rockauto, this connector is not available or listed.

Anybody know where to get one? Or happen to have the relevant plug off an old harness?

Have you looked in the Motorcraft sockets and pigtails catalog online?

Their MSRP is steep, but with the p/n in hand you can often find some unique connectors for not much $.
EBay especially

Not listed anywhere. I did find it in the wiring diagram:

But no part number called out there either.

Worst case, I pop the pin out of the remains of the shell, and solder a splice wire. Not a "good" repair, but if the plug is unobtainum, so be it.

Actually, that 12A581 is a generic part number for a connector, although I'm not exactly sure which connectors.  However, there are bunches of them listed.  Here's what the MPC says that would be applicable to your truck.  I cannot swear it is the right one, but if you found 12A581 then this should be it.

Looking for the harness plug, not the solenoid. Good thinking though.

That's the part NO. for the harness.

Searching that yielded a catalog... which only calls out the whole harness (but a lot of ignition parts!). File attached in case we don't already have it up here.

Yes. I already "fixed" it though:

I replaced a busted ignition coil connector (and like an idiot, spliced the pigtail instead of moving the old terminals to a new shell), and was able to splice one of the terminals off of it as a replacement for the broken terminal on my shell. My shell is still broken (broken clip),but at least it will set in place (plugs straight down, friction and gravity should suffice?)
