Valve cover bolts 300 i6

dmsmith9
Hi,

I was tightening down the cover the other day broke a bolt. Does anyone know where I can get replacement  bolts and what size they should be. I was using the bolts that came with the truck but they are kinda a jerry rigged and old.

Thanks,
Dallas

I have not had mine off in 4 years but as a guess 1/4" thread by maybe 1/2" long?
Pull one of the old ones to the hardware store to match up.

Depends on the year; earlier heads are coarse thread 5/16", later (EFI) are 1/4-20 by about 1/2". Not sure on the length; I used studs on mine with nuts to make valve cover gasket changes easier.
