Stucco Bronco in Saskatchewan

Rembrant
Are you out there Ray?

I came across this Bronco in my internet trolling. Looks like it got the bedliner treatment. Looks to be a pretty heavy duty layer too. Not my thing personally, but it would be tough I guess;).

And another Bullnose in Sask, with factory rust! There's always so many more old vehicles available out west than here. Frown.

My first thought on the Bronco was, what has my son done to his truck this time?

But, that one is in Martensville, near Saskatoon and I have not seen it. Can't understand those bedliner paintjobs and they must be a nightmare to scrape off when you want a nice finish again. They do hide a lot of bad bodywork.

There is an 84 F150 near me with zero rust and lots of patina. Needs the 351W replaced. Thinking pretty hard on that one, but my project plate is more than full. Up by Nipawin, which is where that bus full of hockey players was headed.  Those who follow hockey will know the Humboldt Bronco's story by now. Been a tough few weeks around here.

I don't follow hockey, but I know that story.  Very sad.

The bull bar looks to be in good shape.  Let's see if Ray's "handle" proves to be accurate.

Oh crap. Now I want it!

Bull bars are just not my thing though. Took one off my 95 F250SD just last week. Had to use Chevy words through the whole process!

Yep, just as I thought!

As for the bull bar, you can sell it and get half the price of the truck.

Looks like I'm an owner.

Pretty rough, sunk in the mud, but had the cleanest grill and headlights I'd seen in a long time. Nice straight hood too. No extra charge for rust and mice.

Of course, that bull bar will be up for grabs.

Going back with a trailer later this week. 12,000 lb winch on the trailer and I am going to need it!

This thing really is a mess. Interior partially dismantled, tailgate missing, rust on most panels. Maybe can save passenger door and fender. Truck has not moved in 10 years, engine siezed. Looks like I can salvage some nice blue interior panels. Bumpers are nice. Lariat/Explorer trim.

I have a 12K winch on my trailer and it took most of it's power to pull that '60 Chevy pickup out - after we jacked it up and got inflated rubber under each corner.  And we brought some trees with it.

Re: Stucco Bronco in Saskatchewan

Something else I see popping up all over the west is cheap old camper vans, like the one below in Regina.

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-rv-motorhome/regina/camper-van/1352999517?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

Most of these things have long rusted away out here on the east coast and were hauled off for scrap. However, they still seem to be relatively common out west where they didn't corrode to pieces. I have no use for one, but I suppose if I had lots of space it would be cool to have one if/when the need arose.

PS: I had to Google what "Craven" was, and why an old van would be good for it...lol.

A nice old F250 with a plow was just posted here locally in NS (on Cape Breton island). It's not around the corner, but it's not all that far either. Price is great considering the plow is included, but again, I have no use for the old girl. Be nice to see somebody grab it and fix it up rather than somebody using it for a work horse until it dies. It looks restorable, in pictures at least.

That camper is cheap - if it runs and drives.  But I still don't understand Craven.  Doubt it means the town in England.  Nor one who is is cowardly.  One who is into something?

And the '85 F250 certainly is clean.  And at $2000 US it is a buy - assuming that it isn't rusting away underneath.  But, while it is an Explorer it has very little side trim.  I'm surprised you could get an Explorer that plain.

We'll have to wait for Ray to chime in to confirm, but from what I gathered online, it is some kind of country music festival in the town of Craven, SK. I guess that would be a good place to take a classic camper van.

If I lived further out in the country and had a bigger property with a longer driveway or larger yard, I'd be all over the F250. However, where I live now, we rarely have to plow snow. My driveway is only 110 ft long, and in all of this past winter, I only had to plow it twice (with my ATV), and even then it was really only because the wife was howling about it...lol. I could have left it and let it melt.

Still, at $2500 CDN with a plow, the old girl does appear to be relatively intact for it's age and location. It could be rusted to bits underneath, but maybe not.

Ahhh!  A music festival would explain it.  I didn't find that explanation.

As for not plowing, you must have a relatively flat driveway.  We lived in PA with a steep driveway but an AWD vehicle.  I discovered that while you could traverse it one time w/o plowing, by doing so you effectively turned the snow into ice, and future trips were "tense" - especially in the downhill direction as there was a 90 degree turn at the bottom with a bolder on the other side if you missed it.
