Stinks that your starter didn't last, but at least you can get by until you change it.

Lil'Red is a '87 F250 HD, 4.10's, 1356 4x4, Zf-5, 3G, PMGR, Saginaw PS, desmogged with a Holley 80508 and Performer intake.
Too much other stuff to mention.

Happy to hear you found the problem.  "Dead spot" starters are a running sore.
There are probably some reliable brands that friends here can suggest?

Jim - I'll start a new thread specifically about this "mysterious" clutch switch.

I'm currently running an AutoZone Duralast Reman PMGR. Decent enough quality and if you have a problem covered under the lifetime warranty, AZ's are everywhere. I tried a DB unit, but it didn't fit...
