Guys - This year's Garagemahal Ford truck show is scheduled for September 15th, which is only 6 months away.    (Remember, this is for all years of Ford trucks, not just Bullnose.)

Given that I've reserved a block of 10 rooms at the Skiatook Osage Casino/Hotel, which is about 2 miles from the show, and that's by far the closest hotel.  The rates I got are $119/night as opposed to the standard rate of $159/night.  And the nights for this offer are the 14th and 15th of Sept, although you don't have to stay both nights.

Note that there are only 33 rooms at this hotel, so we have 1/3 of the hotel blocked.  And, right now there's plenty of availability to get more of the rooms if these fill up.  But, since the 15th is also Skiatook's Pioneer Day celebration it is likely that the hotel will soon fill up.  And, this offer is only good through the 15th of August, so to get the reduced rate you have to book by then.

Also, all 5 of these rooms have two full-sized beds.  That way if any of you want to share a room you can.  But, if someone wants a king-sized bed I'll have to give up one of these to get it, so let me know,

Here's the reservation info the hotel sent me:

RESERVATIONS PROCESS

Guests may make their reservations by calling the Osage Hotel at 1/877-246-8777.  When calling please provide the code of "24" or event name of "Bullnse" in order to receive the special room rate. Guests may also make reservations online at Osage Casino by selecting the “Book Hotel Today” button and proceeding to the Skiatook property page.  Select “Group Sign In” at the top of the screen and place the code in the Group Code box, hit submit. This will direct the guests select dates and room type.

Excellent!  So far I know that two rooms are booked - you and Vinny.  Plus Ken Blythen and his wife will be in an RV.  So things are shaping up.

I see there are a few choices for camp grounds in the area, Is any one a better choice than an other?

Also will the show be at your church again this year?

Yes, it will be at the Skiatook Church of Christ, 1900 Rogers Blvd.

As for camping, I'm not familiar with the sites out there, but I will ask around and get back with you.

Does that mean you are coming?

Excellent!  I've added your name to the list, but would it be ok to add your wife's name?  And, remind me from whence you are coming?

Also, I owe you info about camping - right?  My wife suggested that I check with both the private campground just west of town as well as the Corp campgrounds at the lake.  I'll do that and put up a page on camping for anyone interested.  But do you have a type of campground you are looking for?

And, my wife (Janey) is going to be taking the wives that want to go to some place in the area, and the ones currently being considered are:

The Pioneer Woman's Mercantile

Gilcrease Museum

Philbrook Museum

The minor problem is that her car only seats 4, so someone else may need to drive if the group gets large enough.

Thanks, for taking the Time. My wife's name is Jan and we live in southern middle Tennessee, that's between Nashville and Chattanooga.

We have a32ft Motor Home, so a campground that allows them and pets.

Gary, your busy enough, I don't expect you to spent a lot of time on this, just a couple of campground names and I will do some research.

David - Thanks for the offer.  But I just called the campground close to town and have 4 sites reserved at a special rate, although it got really complex due to the hookups.  So I'll leave that to you to work the price out with Jim if you want to stay there.  And the code is "Bullnose".

The campground is Stoney Ridge Campground and it appears that you can book via email.

They have 40 RV spaces and can handle big RV's and trailers.  In fact, the 45' RV's that Hall & Oates brought to their concert in Tulsa last year stayed out there, so it is apparently easy in/out.

But, there's a review here that isn't flattering, so maybe this isn't the best place to stay: Review of Stoney Ridge Campground.  In light of the review, I'll try to get out there soon and report back here.  And, I'll check with the Corp of Engineers on sites out at Skiatook Lake to see what they are like.
