Question about a container under the engine

Josue Cornejo
Hello! Hey, I have a 1981 Ford F100 Ranger Lariat with the Special Trailer Heavy Duty Tow Package. I see a container that is under the engine almost because of the battery, the truth is that I don't know what it is for but it has a line connected, I will post an image of the container. I would be very grateful if you could help me solve this doubt.

that is the fuel vapor canister. it is plumbed in between the fuel tank vent and a timed port on the carburetor.

there are possibly many questions that will arise. just ask. even if only to help those hesitant to ask the same.
