Welcome!  You bought it new?  Cool!  That's a wonderful story.

And who is "we"?  You and your wife?  You and a child?  Tell us more, please!

And, where are you?  We have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and could add you if we had a city or zip.  Perhaps you are close to one of us.

Hi and sorry about the deleted message, I am trying to figure  everything out and accidentally deleted it.  Nick who is my spouse of 25 years bought this truck brand new in 1986.   This truck can pull anything, and boy i mean anything.  This particular truck is a Military truck, in late 86 model year Ford put out 1000 of these trucks, they were all baby blue with the Z vector stripes.  Everything is super heavy duty and lots of redundant wiring . It came with 2 batteries and 130 amp international harvester alternator.   It has the Big Military 300 with C6 and 3:08 gears on a Detroit locker rear end.  Towing is 12,500 lbs.   Paid $14,000 bucks back in 86.  It was the first truck he drove, and not wanting to buy the first thing, he drove many more, but he told me none of them had anything on this truck.   it rides like a Lincoln and can pull  the Louisiana superdome down Poydras street:-)    Nick who is an electronic / electrical technician and designer  actually made this truck remote start, remote window roll up , remote lock and unlock about a year or two before it was even offered on any vehicle.  It also had a home made amplifier with 4 x 15 inch woofers behind the back seat, 3 hp per channel.  Well times have changed and we have grown up and the truck , well, it aged.  We are currently in the process of doing a somewhat restoration.  New paint, lots and lots of body work.  Completely rebuilding the dash updating and rewiring the inside.  New carpet and seat upholstery to come.  Also we bought all new AC system which we will need everybody's help with that please.  All he hvac duct work has been redone including a modification to the blend door which is made out of plastic and breaks very easily as we all know.  We modified it with small hinges from the hardware store which in our opinion works much better then that plastic stuff Ford was using.  I still need to pick out or find the electric fan for the 134a AC system.    We are located in a small town in southeastern Louisiana called Lutcher which is French for Small dull town with bad fm reception:-)  We are really happy that we stumbled upon this forum for as we all know some forums well are just bad, I could tell  some horror stories.  Anyway, there are some other slight custom things we've done to the truck, not necessarily for customization but necessity.  I own an 88 F150 which is the parts truck for most of it.  The rear bumper and steering column as well as the tail lights have been added to the 86.   If anybody needs any help with electrical wiring or pretty much anything that has electrons flowing through it, Just ask Nick.  We will be  happy to help in any way we can.  Me, I have been in auto parts for quite some time and know all or most of Fords tricks.  Nick also took the factory radio and added bluetooth to it, not just a module hanging there, but this is actually now a AM/FM Cassette/ bluetooth radio.  we are talking about possibly doing an internet based business offering this modification to factory radios.  We are also currently totally restoring a 79 Ford Ranchero.   Did i leave anything out?  to long winded?   thanks for welcoming us.  Peace
Nick and George

Another little feature, a digital speedometer from a Lincoln town car. He still has to put the tach back in.

Wow George, that truck is really coming together!

I like the color and the late model seat.

Welcome to the forum.
That 86 would not be a flare side would it?
If so you would be another member of the FOG (Flare side Owners Group).

Sound like some cool mods have been done to the truck over the years.
Did I see you are adding AC or rebuilding it? I added factory AC to my truck not an easy job.
Was working on the AC part running today and ran into an issue with the drive belt not lining up to any grooves.

I am also a fan of the 300 six, that is what my 81 F100 flare side has but I have a NP435 & overdrive.
Like you I did all the work my self, 4 year cab off frame rebuild, even the paint.

We need to see pictures of your truck(s) we love pictures - never mind I now see the pictures

You have done a great job so far.
On the AC was the truck a factory AC or not?
Looking at the compressor bracket it looks factory. If so I may have a question for you on the belt setup.
