Off Ford Topic—another Home Depot Restore Spotted

AmericanSavage
International!  Scout!

I met the guy a long time ago, and did not take pics.  I think it is a 72 Scout—could be incorrect on the year.  Posting because the excellent job done—paint way better than I did on my truck—but he totally moderned up the dash and I think the engine is a crate fab up—not original.  But it sure looks fine, and how many IH’s do you see any more.

Very VERY cool. Thank you for sharing. I love Scouts and follow several International pages/groups on IG and Facebook. My wife actually wants one of these and has been bugging me to get one as my next classic. Problem is, they're quite rare now, and they rusted out even worse than Jeeps lol, so finding a nice one is tough, and expensive.

This one is Gorgeous though. Love it just the way it is.

My buddy Ian has a '60's Travelall as the family truckster.
His wife loves it.

That is a nice looking IH

I will have to get a picture of the one that shows up at shows from time to time but it is far from stock.
IIRC it has a frame swap, 2 wheel drive, lowered and think a SBC.
It is something totally different and pretty cool.

Last time I talked to my brother on the west coast he had a IH with a factory diesel.
Dont remember what he was going to do with it, maybe build for off road?

Before getting Big Bro, my wife's father had two Scouts.

Here in the salted roads country, you could see them rusting in real time, fascinating.

I didn't drive them a lot, but just enough to remember how the road-holding was terrible, was almost looking drunk for other vehicles around.

Nicknamed «Big Brother 1984», due to its soooo-looong shape & nod to George Orwell's 1984 famous novel.
