Mystery vacuum box

Nboogades
Hello all,

I was chasing some vacuum hoses around today and saw that this box was missing one of the 2 of its vacuum lines running into it. Does anyone know what it’s called and what it does so I could try to track down a replacement? If the picture doesn’t load correctly it’s an about 4x6in box that sits to the lower right of my battery (I have an 86 F-150 302CID). It has 2 cells with tubes sticking up out of it and a smaller and larger vacuum hose that runs into it.

Much appreciated,
Nick

That's the charcoal canister, part of the evap system. Ford has used that style and location for such for a very long time (the one on my 1995 Ranger looks identical and is also under the hood by the battery).
