Might possibly be the first bullnose to roll off of the assembly line.

Bulldawg1081
I just picked up this early build '80 yesterday and I noticed the date of manufacture is 09/79 and the VIN ends in four zero's. I figured you guys would enjoy looking at this old truck! As rough as it is, it's still pretty cool and the possibility of it being the first truck off of the line makes it even that much cooler.

I think that's a great find. Nice score.

So, what are your plans for it?

Don't worry about it being rough...I like them like that...lol. I like 'em plain Jane, and with some wear marks;).

The original plan was to drop it a couple of inches and build up a roller cam 351w that I have in storage, put some 18" bullitt wheels on it and have a light weight cruiser.

John/Bulldawg1081 - Welcome!

As suggested on FB, check for a VIN on the frame.  And if you can't seem to find it let me know as I think I can find the one on Dad's truck and take a measurement to show you where it should be.  (I think I also have a pic but can't find it.)

So, with the possibility of it being unusual, have the plans changed to a full resto?

I think for the time being I'm going to continue with the plan of dropping that 351w in and make it a fun cruiser with a little punch. I'll keep all of the original parts in case I decide to go back original.

Thanks for joining and posting! I like the truck. I’ve done quite a bit of junkyarding and the earliest Bullnose I have come across was a Bronco built 9/79 as well:

SHORT BED 4-DOOR DIESEL: 1986 F350 4x4 under construction-- 7.3 IDIT ZF5+GVOD

STRAIGHT SIX 4X4: 1981 F150 2wd to 4x4-- 300 I6 close ratio diesel T19, hydroboost brakes, Saginaw steering

BIG F: 1995 F-Superduty under construction— converting to 6.9L IDI diesel ZF5+DNE2

Jonathan - Do you remember if it had the certification label filled out with the VIN?

Gary, I tried to post a picture of the certification label but the upload failed. I will try again outside of work where the reception is better.

This reminds me... there is a forum glitch when I try to edit a post on my phone. Normally I tap the photo/sunset icon twice to launch the photo uploader. If I hit edit and try this on an existing post the second tap refreshes the browser window instead of launching the uploader. Not a big deal, but I will have to put the picture in a new post...

Jonathan - I'll check into the glitch.  Thanks.  I'd not run into that, but I do know about having to hit the icon twice.  However, I guess I've not edited from my phone.

Anyway, you got the certification label posted.  And, it has the complete VIN.  Hmmmm.....

Great find and it looks like it's in decent shape!  Can't wait to see some more photos of the truck.
