Interior Rear View Mirror

Did Ford only offer one interior rear view mirror?

D0AZ-17700-A/E5AZ-17700-A

The one that came in Camano has glass that is 11" wide. The center behind the glass has separated so need a new one but want to go back with the same width.
I don't see any markings on this one so figure it's aftermarket but wanted to check before I order a CRL one.

Technically there were two, with the main difference being the width - 10" vs 12".  But the replacement for the 10" unit was from the Aerostar.

Thanks Gary! I looked in the doc but didn't see that table. Apologies if I missed it.

Guess I need to look for E5AZ-17700-A.
Did a lot of them get painted to match?

I assume 'covered' just means that they are the typical hard black plastic shell?

Edit:
Just realized that's the same thing as I posted initially but all of the listings for that describe it as 10 inch.

Edit 2:
Messaged a seller to see if they can measure it for me since all the ones I found on ebay for that number show 10" but Tasca shows it as 12"

We don't have the table in the documentation.  Should we?

As for being painted, since I think the ones on the trucks were all black, or at least all I've seen, I doubt many were painted.

I vote yes on adding it.
Maybe directly under Interior?
Like how the exterior mirrors are directly under Exterior?

You could...wait for it...mirror that structure

Keep your day job.

Ok, see what you think, although you might have to hit refresh for your browser to see the new page.

My wife gave the same expression after she asked why I was smiling as I typed.
Blame it on the cabin fever.

The page looks great - thanks a lot for adding it. Once I hopefully hear back from one of the ebay sellers I asked to measure it, I'll report back.

Thanks David.
Contacted them and they said I would receive the Replaced By part of DU5Z-17700-P. This is all I am finding online also. One seller got back to me and said the DU5Z was the shorter version.

Only one dealership has the E5AZ but it's for a customer.
Looks like JY or going with the shorter one.

Re: Interior Rear View Mirror

FuzzFace2
I want to thank you for bring this up.
I have 2 but 1 is busted, think from the roll over parts truck? but think they were 2 different sizes?
I cant remember but think 1 was a day / night type, the larger cracked one?
Both are black.

I don't have one installed yet as the mount is not on the glass and I want to mount the sun visors so I know they will clear the mirror.
What size mirror is everyone running 10" or 12"?

On that can someone get measures of the mount?
From the top of the glass and side to side this way I have a clue where it should be mounted.

Thanks
Dave ----

I should look over the chart they all are D / N mirrors from the look of it.

If someone gets the dimensions I'll add them to the page.

Big Blue's spot on the windshield is centered 4" down from the metal trim piece and 29 3/4 from the driver's side plastic trim and 29 1/2 from the passenger's side trim.  But it looks like it was re-glued at some time as it is sloppy, so those may not be factory measurements.

What kind of glue is used to remount the  mirror mount to the windshield? Mine fell off a couple of days ago.

Re: Interior Rear View Mirror

You can get the glue in auto parts stores but in the past I have found it does not last.

I would hit a local auto glass shop and have them glue it back on.
They may only want to glue the mount with out the mirror till the glue has time to set up.

BTW if you can see where it was mounted you may want to mark the out side of the glass so you / them know where it should be mounted. I had 1 place "guess" when the glass was replaced and I could not use the sun visor as it hit the mirror till it fell off and I never installed it back on.

My mirror came loose, several years ago. I stopped by where windshields are sold/installed and they reinstalled it for free! And, I had not purchased anything from them. It just took a few minutes.

It gives me a starting point.
Once I get the visors installed, need to paint them first hope this weekend, I can do a "mock up" and see if they clear.
Thanks

I guess it might be a good idea to call the folks that put this windshield in 12 years ago and see if they will re glue it. I do business with them all of the time for custmers trucks. I should have thought of that...…………...duh. Thanks guys

Doesn't surprise me.  Ive been looking for a NOS one for my '82 and all I keep getting is the same thing you are finding, replacements for the correct one that is shorter.  I love the wider mirror and the only reason I want to replace mine is there are a few black spots in the mirror but its still useable as is.

So I am holding out for the correct one to replace it to match my new interior once I get to that stage.

Just to followup, I ended up going with a F2UZ-17700-A
It looks the same as the larger 80's factory one but it does take a different windshield mounting plate.
