Heating/Ac vacuum lines brittle - looking for repair kit.

Starliner
Not much left to grab on to here.
I fixed it once but it broke in another place.
Looking for a more permanent fix.

Wait till the line cracks right in the middle of that plug in the first picture. You cant see the crack but the HVAC controls don't work and they were working the day before

Mine inside were ok so what I did was replace the plastic lines in the engine bay with rubber vacuum hose.
Where it went thru that plug I pushed out the plastic out made the hole bigger for the hoses to go thru and made the connection inside behind the glove box.

I also have a 3rd hose from inside going thru that plug to a heater hose close off valve.
It stops the flow of hot water thru the heater core when the setting is on MAX AC.

I don't know if you can get that plastic line from any where as I did not look for it.
Maybe someone else knows, but rubber hose works for me.

Another vote for rubber hose or Tygon fuel line (think weedwacker or chainsaw)
That stuff is available most everywhere.

I use paint markers or little collars of colored shrink tube to match the factory lines for functions.

Or you could just buy 1/8 plastic air line that is used on the shifter knob and in the dash of over the road trucks and it comes in five colors so you can color code what runs which function................Just a thought.

That is what I replaced most of the vacume lines on the Bronco with. The other thing about those lines is that you can put a light amount of heat on them and use a tubing binder and put sharper bends in them without braking them or kinking them as they are made for high heat applacations.

So, this is the sort of thing you might be able to get at a heavy diesel repair shop?

I buy that stuff from NAPA on 100 ft roles, But they will sell it to you over the counter by the foot. It is also sold in two tube with a vinal cover with two different color tubes in it. Also 3 tube, four tube and five tube.

Honestly I would try and replace it with vacuum hose.

There are places online that sells plastic vacuum tubing but I dont know what size that would be.  I personally am getting rid of all the plastic vacuum tubing on my truck and just going with proper sized vacuum hose.  Mine isnt bad nor brittle on my truck but its only a matter of time.
